After doing some investigation i found out today that you can sex a Grey by looking under its tail feathers!!! Also that my 9month old babyboy i had in south africa was a girl all the time!!!:cheer: Is this true experts??? Kind regards Yvette

Hi guys Just wanted to give an update on liefie. he/she(still not sure if liefie is boy or girl) is doing great , this afternoon he was playing and i heard him growling at something intensiveley , i went to investigate and he was standing biting his own foot and growling at it!!!!! He is very playfull today and also wants to fight his own shadow on the floor!!! And makes this funny noise so cute!!! i call it his happy noise cause when his crop is full and he is content he does it!!! He makes me soooooooo happy!!!{Feel-good-0002006E}

Hi all!!! Its 3am in the morning and i can not sleep!!!! Worried my baby would cry and i dont hear him!!!:unsure: Can not drink sommething to sleep cause then i would certanly not hear him!!! Has this ever happened to any one else or am i the only nervous/paranoid mom???? :blink:

Hi Tycos mom I am not sure of his age from what i know about grey s he looks between 6-8 weeks. About the thing with the vet: I live in Nigeria west africa where they do not even care about human lives much less a parot/bird here they would have them for lunch (they even sell puppy meat!!!) I am sorry to put it so graphic but its the truth. I have already contacted a vet in south africa who will be couriering me some meds (vitamins, powder for lice,drops to put in his water for skin) and special food and toys!!! so that was a great idee!!! Hi all!! I am yvette and live in nigeria (from south africa ) I found myself buying a new baby grey (about6weeks old) on sunday after driving past a street market and seeing the poor baby laying in a big dirty cage!! He was very neglected and they were feeding him raw beans of all things i got into a argument with the guy and told him he is crazy feeding him the beans he tought this was very funny and simply told me if i wana feed him that i should buy him!! And ofcourse i did. so now found myself the owner of a lovley new baby grey. Hi all!!! I am sorry but have so many qeustions, i have not seem to get alot of responses PLEASE im very dumb with this new baby and do not want him/her to die any help would be great. I have heard from diffrent people about feedings, should i feed im after 12pm or not??? some say yes others say maybe or no, i can not seem to get a clear anwser:( and also should i wake him to feed when he is sleeping soundly??? I am trying the best i can to help him but in this country i now live in there is not any good vets (very dogey) the vet here that i found does not seem to know wheter or not he knows anything about greys. So i am reluctant to to take him there, wont risk this baby s life with a dogey vet. Will keep evryone uptated and take a new picture of him tomorow, bur today he seemed alot more active then when i got him and is playing and chewing evrything he can put his beek on. Thanks

HI all Im new here so can any 1 help??? I moved to nigeria about 3 mouths ago (im from south africa) and on sunday a drove past a streat market and noticed a small grey chick in a big ugly cage, i stopped ofcourse ( i had a grey in south africa but had to leave it behind )the guy was selling the bird i also nopticed the beans they have been force feeding him. :angry: I told the guy he is crazy and should not be feeding him that!!! he just looked at me and laughed, i was livid (needless to say) He just said with a smile if you wana feed it buy it!!! I ended up buying the bird to save him but need some help cause the 1 i had in sa was already weaned. he is feeding well every 3 hours but there still seem to be some beans in his crop!!! i can not find a vet as there is 3 public holidays till friday . He also seem too have lice what can i use for that??? I took a pic of him so you can see im not sure of his age!!!
