  1. Oh.my.God! I love your greys' play room! They've got it made. Well, I could not provide my grey with a playroom, but the TV or radio on is a great idea. I just want to make sure that he does not get frustrated and start plucking his feathers. Thanks for your reply!
  2. Skuffy, so do you take your grey with you when you visit friends? How about weekend trips, vacations?
  3. Tarnold, thanks for your reply. How many birds do you have? 4 hrs sounds good, but then again, sounds like you have more than one bird and they possibly hang out together when you are gone? I would have only 1 grey and 1 dog staring at the cage while I am gone. Sibylle
  4. Judy, again, thank you very much for answering so promptly. I am very excited about getting a grey, but I want to make sure she/he gets enough attention and love. Do you guys travel with your greys? In the car, that is. How would you rate the maintenance level for your grey - low, medium or high maintenance? Yes, I will introduce myself later in the evening. I am at work and don't have a lot of computer time. But I promise I will do this tonight. Thanks again for your help!!
  5. Hi Judy: Thank you very much for your help reply. I do work all day, so I could spend a little bit of time in the mornings before I leave - this time the bird would be outside the cage for maybe 1 hr, and then I could spend another 3 hrs in the evenings, which would be outside the cage time, holding him and combined with training. This is during the week, and on the weekends I would have more time. Do you think this is enough social time with the bird? As far as the dog is concerned, of course I would be with them when the bird is outside the cage. Thanks again for your help! sibylle
  6. This thread discusses the Content article: how much time? Hi,I am new to this forum, so please be patient with me... anyhow, I would like to know how much time do you guys spend with your grey per day? I am considering getting one, but I work all day and I am not sure that the evenings would be enough time for me to spend with my parrot. Any inputs on this? I also have a dog (shepherd mix), who goes to doggie care during the day. My phantasy is that my dog and my (future) parrot could become friends and entertain each other during the times I am not at home. Is this realistic? I don't want to traumatize my parrot by leaving it alone for too long. thank you for your help! Sibylle
