  1. i did wet his wing and i dont see anythign broken. he isnt bleeding but like i said its just in the shaft/
  2. this is off topic. i have a cockateil who is about 2 yrs old. when i took himout of his cage i noticed a little pile of blood on the bedding. when i looked under one of his wings i noticed some dried up blood. (my nightlight i keep on them died last night-- and he must of had a night thrash) anyway he is not bleeding anymore. it doesnt look like he broke any blood feathers.. but on of the feathers under his wing.. the shaft is filled with blood (like in the inside) does it have to be removed even though hes not bleeding?????
  3. my guys name is Cornealius (from the old planet of the apes ) haha everyone laughs when i tell them what his name is...it's suiting for his personality.
  4. aw.. does she say alot of words now thats shes older?
  5. so i was reading a bunch of posts on here and it seems like alot of your greys started talking at a young age. my baby is 6 months now, ive had him for about two. HE BARELY MAKES A PEEP! he does sit there and coo and make little chirps thats about it.. i talk to him ALL the time, and whistle and explain everything. he doesnt sing, talk or whitle. im starting to get worried theres something wrong. of course id still be madly in love with him even if he doesnt talk, but .. i was kind of looking forward to all the babbling. any opinions..?
  6. i got my baby about a month ago. he i down to one feeding at night. i am concerned that he isnt eating any other foods. i am reading alll about how everyones bird here eats breakfast lunch and dinner. i am LUCKY if my bird picks at his veggies. i cook for him everynight jsut for hijm to throw it at me nad not eat.
  7. um my birds crop is not gritty or doesnt feel like a sandbag. it feels like a little water balloon. now i am freaking. do they shrink as they get older? i know that when the crpo is full it signfys they arent hungry.
  8. aw thats adorableeeeeeeeeee! she doesnt try to eat the diaper?
  9. i know al ot of people here feed their greys oatmeal for breakfast...but does anyone use like actual baby oatmeal? i saw some organic brown rice baby oatmeal and wanted to get it for i think he would love it. they have all different flavors too. my little guy HATES veggies, and gobbles up any fruit
  10. i jsut had a question about baby bird crops. my grey is currently on one feeding per day. i fill his crop so he can sleep (dont worry i am going to school for animal care and have had YEARS of experience) but i have never had n african grey before. do their crops eventually shrink as they get older? how will i be able to tell when he is full? he dpes eat on his own but i have to hand feed him in order to fill hiscrop before bedtime.
  11. so who here puts their beloved greys in diapers?
