Loki is a huge Katy Perry fan. Everytime her music comes on, Loki starts dancing back and forth and whistling. A few evenings ago, the trailer for the movie came on. Loki was napping on my arm at the time. She immediately perked up, started bobbing her head saying "doo, doo, doo" and whistling. She never reacts this way to any other music. Something tells me she would love to go see the movie.

My hubby made a T-stand of sorts for Loki's shower perch. We just place it in the bottom of the tub and put the shower head on mist. No suction cups needed. It might be another alternative for you to look into for an idea. Here's a video of her bath. You can sorta see the perch.

I'm sorry for your "misunderstanding" with your fids. Great Bird office! Looks like a nice set up. What is the size of the cargo net, if I may ask? I was thinking of purchasing one. The hubby has given Loki a corner in his office, but I can see her eyeing the desk from time to time.

Loki's cage is on those brightly coloured floor mats that kids play on. It helps to protect the hardwood from her dropping her toys off the side of the cage. plus its easy to vaccum up the feathers and debris. Newspapers are under her boings. My hubby and I change her cage papers every few days, the cage gets a good wipe down about every ten days, and gets washed down once a month.

Loki is a 3 year old CAG. 1. Does he/she get on well with more than one member in the family? Yes. Most days she preferes to sit with her Daddy, but there are days where she wants to be with me. 2. Is he/she receptive to strangers? Mostly. As long as they don't go rushing up to her or near her cage. If they are ignoring her, she will fly in to get a closer look. 3. Is he/she receptive to change / new things? She's cautious and will get spooky from time to time, but we play with the object and show her, she calms down fast. 4. Is he/she cuddly? Only at night when she's stalling at bedtime. She'll ask for scritches until your fingers hurt. 5. Is he/she aggressive? No, unless she's trying to get her point across and we've ignored her. She'll give us a nip. 6. Is he/she playful / energetic? Very! I've noticed her mood will change to coincide with ours. If hubby and I are up and loud and doing things, so is she. She will be more playful and louder. If we're taking an easy day, she will rest with us or chill on her boing, all fuzzed up and one-legging it. 7. Is he/she moody / grumpy? Not really, only when she's really tired, will she be a bit more nippy. 8. Does he/she speak? Yes, very well. 9. Is he/she loud, noisy? Only if we are. 10. Does he/she damage household objects they shouldn't? We try to keep the "valuables" out of her reach, but there are a few occations she's gotten to the remote or a game controler and had a ton of fun.

I use Murphys Oil Soap and have had no problems with it. I also use it fairly diluted (just a capful)in a big sink full of water. However, I have heard that in time, it does ruin the floor. Other people have used just plain old mixture of vinegar and warm water.

Loki has two as well. Baby Girl when she is being sweet and/or wants something. Brat when she is being, well, a brat.

Apple juice. It's like liquid crack to my fid. She will climb, fly and bite her way to my hubby's glass for a sip. And then another, and another.... She only gets one or two sips and she's hyper for an hour or so. Good thing I only buy it once a month or so.

Perhaps its the Harrison's itself? About a year ago we got a bag that was "over cooked". It looked darker, a bit smaller and was harder. Loki absolutely refused to eat the pellets and spent the afternoon throwing each piece out of her bowl. We took the bag back to the vets and exchanged for one that was a lot lighter and looked like her normal Harrison's.

Yeah I can attest to that one, wait until they start combining things too! Loki has started to do just that. The other day she asked me "Do you want to score?" If only she knew how we took that one lol! she got the "do you want to..?" from me cause I always ask her that.. and the score part was Bryan trying to teach her to cheer for the Leafs during hockey season.

Our vet told us that if the animal doesn't have teats, then it shouldn't drink milk. Even if Loki did get into the milk, its lactose free, so I wouldn't be too worried. The last thing I need is her addicted to that. We switched to low-sugar juice because she kept trying to ninja our drinks lol

We've been covering the cage since we brought Loki home. I just use a black king sized bed sheet to cover it. If we are going to be out later than her bedtime, we cover half the cage (the part where her sleeping perch is) that way the light we leave on isn't bothering her too much. Most of the time, we get a dirty look from her for waking her up. She normally wakes up around 8:30 am and chatters quietly to herself until she hears us open the bedroom door. If we don't get her uncovered by the 2nd "Hello" or "peekaboo" we get told about it.

My hubby and I recently moved and this is what we did to prepare Loki. About a month before the move, we started packing, a few boxes at a time, since they were being stored in the living room where Loki was housed. Two weeks before, I prepped her travel cage and took her out on short car rides around the area, all at different times, that way she'd never know exactly when we went on a 'road trip'. A week before the move, we moved her cage to a different position or area of our old condo. We did this daily. Day of the move, she was the last one out of the old place and she was the first thing set up in the new place. Even before the truck was unpacked. Within 36 hours of the move, she was back playing and acting like her old self. The only time Loki showed stress was when she was couped up in the cage after about 5 hours. During the lay over, my hubby and I rotated the time spent in the car giving Loki some time out of the traveler cage. Overall, she adjusted faster to the move than we did! I'm so proud of her!
