  1. Hello Grey Forums, I have another question for both TAGs and CAGs owners. I have been browsing videos on youtube of both the TAGs and CAGs. I noticed that the TAGs voices seem to be "less" clear than the CAGs. It seems that the CAGs can get the "crispness" in their voices that TAGs appear not to get. Is this because of the size differnece in the birds? Maybe it's something along the lines of the bigger the birds the larger the voice box and better the sound it can produce? Thanks!
  2. Hello Greyforums, I have read about the minimum amount of time that Grey owners should let their Greys out of the cage and minimum training times.I don't quite remember the exact times as the minimum,so I would like to ask all of those who have one to tell me how much time that they spend with their Greys in training, exercise, and accompaniment.I want to find an average based on people who actually own Greys. Thanks!
  3. Hello Grey Forums again, I have a question regarding shipping greys. In one of my classes in Penn State we studied how shipping animals (in my case it was bovines/cows) would get "shipping fever" where they would lose about 8% of their body weight and there were some temporary psychological effects as well. So, my question is there some effects like these or maybe worse for birds that are shipped to you? I have read how you can train your parrot to be comfortable in these little "pet taxis",but I haven't read about any effects of health. I believe there is a little bit of a psychological effect only because of being a new place or territory, but i wanna make sure of it. The other question I have is that if the greys are shipped by air, do you pick them up at the airport or are they literally shipped to your door? Thanks everyone
  4. Hello members, I've been researching for about a month on African Greys. I was initially attracted to the CAG, but I found out that the TAG was a better bird because of it's laid back personality and less neurotic behavior compared to its cousin CAG.So, I decided that this would be a parrot that I would like to get. The first thing I did was search for a Timneh breeder, but was very unsuccessful in finding one within reasonable distance in PA. I learned shortly afterwards that Timneh aren't as popular for breeding because they are shipped in less numbers that the Congo and something about breeding them is difficult compared to the Congo. So my questions are, Does anyone know of a Timneh Breeder in the eastern part of PA and is this information true about the disposition of the Timneh vs Congos true? I have read that this information is debatable among the Grey community. Thanks!!:cheer:
  5. Hello members, My name is Victor. I am a Penn State student studying animal bioscience/veterinary science. I don't own a parrot, but plan on getting one after I graduate. I'm very fascinated with birds and their lifelong bond with their owners.I think that is really awesome and can't wait to experience that bond when I own one. I am ready to ask many questions based on my reading about parrot ownership and curiosity. So, I hope that I don't become an annoyance with all my questions. It's a pleasure meeting you and the other African Grey owners on this forum. Thanks, this will be a great resource for African Grey info. - Victor
