  1. Wow im terrified to bring the temp down passed 68f thinking my poor bird will freeze, but I really want to drop the temp down low 60's at night to save on heating bill. I guess 64f is a good temp. Too bad there is no definite answer to this question. I have been looking for one for the past 2 years.
  2. Just so people dont get the wrong idea, I do spend most of the day with her when im home from work. so is that what I am doing wrong? is she too used to me? should I leave her alone more often so she is used to it or knows that im coming back?
  3. I have a question i hope someone can help me with. My grey is 9 months old and will constantly make random ANNOYING noises every time I leave the room. And I know im her flock and he is calling out to me. But it becomes so annoying because she wont stop. I call back to her. but that doesn't seem to make her relaxed. I can not be around her all the time like when im making dinner . She is making it very difficult to function or do normal chores around the house with her constant noises. She will be quiet when im in the same room with her and usually doesnt make a noise. But once I leave she just goes crazy. what should I do? I bought her all different toys but once i leave the room she doesnt car about them anymore. PLEASE HELP!
  4. I go to this great avian doctor here in florida and i asked her about bathing because my daughter Shadow doesnt like to take baths either. She goes crazy if i get her wet. Well the doc told me not to worry about it because unlike other birds the african greys are from africa where its dry. She said they take dust baths in the wild. So not giving your bird monthly baths isnt necessary. However she did say to maybe give them a bath a couple times a year because the birds are inside the house and oils and such things can accumulate on the birds from the kitchen etc. She also suggested to bring my bird to a place and have them give her a good bath. That way she wont be mad at me or take it out on me. but someone else.
