My Teil

Well, My teil is really pretty, um...Dumb. He Hates being held, Will not sit on your finger, he rather be on the front of your shirt. and well, I am wanting a Congo African Grey and I thought that it wouldnt be nice to get the new bird and totally forget about him so I built a cheap, majorly GHETTO Perch for him LOL It is made with PVC and a Tree Branch. The Branch has been soaked in water, and baked. I put him on it, and gave him some treats when he stayed on it, and I think he likes it. So im going to trim his wings again I think and start letting him sit there while im on the Computer and around that room. Hopefully this will give him/her a nice confidence boost and maybe he will start to like being out of his cage and around people again. PICTURES ARE COMING SOON!
  2. Dust? What do you mean? Oh like from there feathers or something? Im sorta confused lol
  3. I think it would be cool for my bird to be up on his perch, and me lift my arm up and have him fly over to me. Is this something that I can train my Grey to do once I get him? And also, I think it would be awesome for him to be able to go fly around outside on a harness.

Post edited by: Matt, at: 2008/05/13 21:19
  4. Ok Thanks... I appreciate the Fast Replys
  5. Thanks, I wanna get one soon so I can start to love him lol Now, the breeder I may buy of showed me the cage I should buy, and it has a perch on top. Should I buy or make a second perch so i can move him around the house? (and in the shower LOL) I was thinking of making a really sturdy one out of PVC and making the sitting area outta wood.

Post edited by: Matt, at: 2008/05/13 19:23
  6. Thanks... I have been wanting one for So long now. And that life time committment is one of the reasons I want one so bad. I think it would be awesome to have a bird thats loves you as much as you love him. I am willing to take time outta my day to prepare food for him, bath him, etc. everything that is required of owning an African Grey. And yes I have done tons of research but I still have TONS to learn. But I would assume that a portion of what I have left to learn comes from experience with the bird itself, and not something that can be written on paper.
  7. Oh and I also forgot to add that I have Always wanted a Companion Animal Like a grey. I rather get one while im young and beable to have him most of my life, or even all of it if he ends up out living me LOL Im 15, and I have all the time in the world needed for a grey. Im Homeschooled so he will always see me, and I will always be talking to him and teaching him new things. Just thought I would add that.
  8. oops! I forgot to mention my Dogs! LOL We have 2 Labs. Ones a black Lab named Jake, and the other is a Yellow Lab named Joey. Joey is the Show style Lab, and Jake is the Feild Style Lab.(Jake is Lean and is very active, Joey is thicker and is more laid back.) But yeah, they approvved the Grey but not the teil cause the teil we have is annoying, we dont wanna add to that. LOL

Post edited by: Matt, at: 2008/05/13 16:42

We have a few hundred Snakes, We just sold most of our leopard geckos but we have tons more hatching, and we just had some Bearded Dragons hatch a few days ago. Then we have 2 Veiled Cham's but their not breeding yet, but they will be soon. Oh and its a Family Business, Just FYI. Then My Personal Pets Are: 2 Pet Rats Saltwater and a Freshwater Tank a Teil 3 Giant African Bullfrogs (Pyxie Frogs) (1 male and 1 female are Imported, and the others gender is unknown and he was Captive Bred.) A Japanease Firebelly Newt in the Freshwater tank 3 Dumpys (Whites Tree Frogs) 2 Veiled Chameleons So in total thats 14 Personal Pets. 11. Anyone here own Cockiteils? I have the dumbest one of all. He hates being held, doesnt step up(even though I have attempted training him/her to do so for the last 4 years.) He used to let my mom and I rub behind his neck, but he hasnt let us do it for the last 2 years. I really wish I could Play with him like I did when i first got him but...I have pretty much given up.
