  1. Yeah she definitely picked us. She was so cute and curious about us. The other two were still cowering after an hour. They'd open up for a few minutes but then run and hide again. But it was also getting late and they were tired. Anyhow, I'm confident we made the right decision
  2. Well there were 4 babies total and one was already spoken for. Two were being shipped off for the hand raiser to pick which ones because they had no preference as to what sex they wanted, so basically whatever one I picked left the other two to be sent out. The way I picked was, we sat there for an hour playing with them and really wanted the boy but he wanted nothing to do with us. Our girl climbed up on my arm, the traveled halfway up my arm and laid her head on my shoulder! Yeah that was enough to tell me she had picked me She's not been sexed officially but by the time we take her home we should know for sure. Either way, her name is going to be Dakota
  3. Thanks! I think she's kinda cute too
  4. We picked out our baby grey tonight! Here's the pictures of her:
  5. Thanks! I love her to death of course
  6. I'm going to visit the birds on Friday night! Also the handraiser is 15 minutes away from my work so I'll be able to visit the bird frequently before we bring one home :cheer:
  7. Thanks guys! I hadn't heard or read about Greys screaming so I figured that.
  8. I'm reading all about Greys and their possible issues and I'm wondering something. How common is it that a Grey that was properly socialized and raised by a good breeder/handraiser would still have issues like plucking, biting and screaming? Of course before I get a Grey I just want to know how often this happens when all the right things have been done. Thanks in advance! Heather
  9. I'm hoping to have pictures by this weekend
  10. Thanks guys If all goes well you'll be hearing from me a lot soon!
  11. Thanks! I hope to be sharing a new baby grey soon too!
  12. Pebbles loves to sit on my shoulder, but she also adores her rope perch I have setup on the top of her cage. She hangs out there most of the time because she can scope out what's going on in a few rooms at once and choose what she'd like to get into
  13. Oh and yes she's a character alright! She's very independent except when you are eating and then she's a velcro bird LOL She loves the dogs for their hair but the dogs don't appreciate it when she decides to roll around on their backs while they are trying to sleep! She also loves playing tug of war with the dog's squeaky pull toy
  14. Well she's already molted once on her back and head. Her color has changed a little. Her colors are a bit brighter. She's supposed to be a "brown throated" conure aka St. Thomas, but her color is more orange and yellow than brown. I don't think she's going to change much more though. Oh and her flight feathers which are currently clipped are a beautiful blue and teal
