  1. so can u tell me what we need to do with frozen stuff... do we just put loose a handful of frozen veggies in bowl & the leave for the day - this will defo keep fresher too as they will need to thaw out first before the freshness of veg starts going.... anyone now if palm oil is good for greys as this comes from palm nut that greys love but the palm oil is like a wax form & is used as we use oil for cooking - this is used in african culture for cooking - and they are originally from africa / congo.... so is this good for them or not? cheers emma & sensei...
  2. opps meant shread lool not ship lol... darn keyboard lol...x
  3. does it ship to reveal a black beak as in a post i read it came off & was shiny black underneath like new... as they are young... TaG's have irovy coloured beaks right? x
  4. thanx for info... No he is a CaG lol just meant his beak looks a bit like a TaG's... does it still happen then in CaG's at same age then? xx
  5. Hey - just wanna say thanx again for all the info.. Sensei has started to show this horn colour dark brown beige shade... around the tip of his beak - def looks more like a TaG's beak well the tip of it... it also is slightly uneven with a faded ridge or 2 - is this the beak peeling so to speak.. I was very concerned now I am understanding it is natural... so happy about that.... so should I help a bit when it starts to flake by picking at it... as some of you do lol this will not hurt or be sensitive to him at all will it. I am getting a quaker at end of month - does this happen to them too..in fact.. does it happen to all birds>> many thanks for all ur posts about ur greys - this site has prevented may a trip to the vets.. Emz.. & Sensei..
  6. Sensei's beak has started to go a slight diff colour at the tip/front... like a light brown.beige colour - anyone got any ideas - he chews loadsa stuff & thought maybe it is where he has chipped it away.. it has a few slight ridges on the tip also... very minor but still I am unsure.. he is in perfect health otherwise... learning words... doing so well... saying bad boy bad boy now (as in the song) allo boy/mate, alright.. laughs also.. & I am sure he said tickles once the other day it was fab... he scream like a girl once in a blue moon too but not for long anyway can anyone help with his beak.. unsure if needs to be looked at professionally but it doesnt seem to notice to him.... please not this is so small right now - wil try get some pics.. but prevention is better than cure.. if anyone has heard of something similar please advise.. many thanks Em & Sensei...

  10. Hi, I am getting a 8-9 weeks old baby quaker (blue) in 5weeks. I also have a 10mth CAG - He originally came from an aviary &has since met other birds & been fine, calm & intrigued by them... I am worried about the differences between both bird... basically do they have the ame allergies as greys & like the same food.... Also, I am bringing him home afterhehas weaned - I also have a small cage for him - will keep him in my bedroom at night so I can keep an eye on him justfor 1st week or so... I then have a seperate cage to my greys for him to go into..... which I will place nxt to each other so they can get used to seeing each other..... but I am unsure bif OK to leave for 7hrs when I go to work - I always kep tv on for my grey so will do the same but will lack anything else until I am home - will this be OK.. worried that as he is such a young age he should not b left on his own - is this correct? xxx
  11. I am getting a blue quaker in 5weeks at the moment he is being weaned but I shall have him home soon... cant wait.. anyone can give me advice about slowley introducing them any tips.. I am putting him in a seperate cageat first but I am sure both shall b ok as they have both come from avairys with loads of diff birds around them - I am a little nervous though s my grey was 5mths old when I got him so bit of a difference.... unsure if I should leave him when I go to work.. any advice.. on putting the 2 together...? xxx

  14. PLEASE can someone help me out - where are the blood feathers usually placed on a grey? I have a feather on my boy that seems like it is ingrown - the bit that looks like the root - plastic looking bit is hard & thicker than on the other and looks liek going back into his head... can I pull this out? Have tried a litle but he proper flinches... is this a blood feather do u know..also what is the best way to sstock bleeding of a blood feather, justin case this happens... I have heard to pull out straight away - but how do u stop actual bleeding....? Regards Emma

In captivity their are a handful of Ligers...a cross between a male Lion and a female Tiger. Cross breeding only can happen if the genetics are close enough. Macaws can cross breed with other macaws because their genetics are almost the same. An Owl finch can breed with a Zebra finch, but like the horse and donkey hybrid it is sterile. The grey is not closely related to any other parrot to breed with it...I don't even believe the CAG can even cross with the TAG. WOW HOW INTERESTING IS THAT LIGERS THATIS MAD NEVER KNEW THEY EXISITED MENTAL... THANX FOR THAT - HELSP ALOT.....
