  1. yes indeed, they contain a cyanide compound which is released when digested, they arent even good for human consumption! but to a little bird like a grey, it is so much more lethal.
  2. ah yes Teresa or Terri, whichever you prefer
  3. lol he's my bf, we both have our little Clëo =) but yes he should go introduce himself! go go go
  4. certainly did dave, but I swear your meant to be working right now?? lol
  5. Haha, everyones grey is prettier than anothers, in JudyWorld her's is the best hehe, its a win win situation though! I may look into weighing Clëo too, but avian vets like to charge you for every single little thing, she has an appointment this tuesday so i think she's going to hate me and dave for awhile afterwards. Lets us see those picures soon louisejane! im very intrigued
  6. greys all have different personlilities and there is no gaurantee they will like each other, be fully prepared for this! dont neglect the second grey cuz your bonded grey doesnt like him/her. perhaps let kika meet the second grey a few times beforehand, and remember they can bond with each other down the line, like it took time for your grey to trust and bond with you. the only problems they say can happen with two greys is that they may talk less, but ive seen many situations where this isnt true at all!! once again down to the grey, think carefully about this! cuz i know if i got another grey and Clëo didnt like him/her, then i would have to try really hard to equal my interaction with them cuz Clëo will forever be my number one. Because of this, i know im not ready yet and im going to wait a year or so.
  7. hmm i think at the moment i would have a problem picking Clëo out but ive only had her two weeks or so, so havent got that big bond yet i suppose. But as soon as she opens her beak i would know straight away!
  8. haha well the species doesnt exist, so when people want to identify one, they simply point to a congo that was born a little bigger and go 'thats a cameroon!' but nope just a congo ^^ people shouldnt try to use greys as profit
  9. hmmm i bet! maybe the breeders cameroon grey actually comes from that place, so thats why they have named it that? not such an amazing breeder to think there are more than two species  i hope i havent gotten my facts wrong but the fact the cameroon isnt another species has been drummed into my head for a very long time. perhaps do a little research and see what you come up with
  10. hehe, I bet greys think we all look alike too and that they look very different from one another :cheer:
  11. she's quite a light sleeper so glad i managed to catch this one
  12. hmm well after about 30seconds she squawks and hoists herself back up, but i expect she'll get more comfortable?? i hope so, it'd be nice to know she trusts us like that
  13. lol my post sounded a little silly repeating myself but thats the gist of it. A lot of people seem to get it into their heads its some type of new grey
  14. I have got an account, she will have to wait a week or so before i can afford it more easier, but thanx a bunch
  15. An african grey cameroon is mistaken as a new species of grey, it is in fact justwhen people see a larger congo, just born a little bigger, they vary in size. They are called cameroon because smugglers used to smuggle them from a place called Cameroon and therefore they got that name. Only two species of grey, congo and Timneh
  16. didnt work adding a link http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d16/squireschown666/DSC01203.jpg ^ CLICK ^
  17. oops picture was too big =) -adds again-
  18. I caught her sleeping, just had to take a photo!
  19. both me and dave completely love that cage! very big, bet Cleo would love it!
  20. also karma for you, that made my bf practically cry lol. such a sad story, i feel all welled up
  21. awwww, that is so sad! He is lucky that you saw him before you left, im so sorry he has passed on but you really did give him a better life. That woman didnt even deserve the 25 cents!!! how could someone do that to something so precious??? it is so disgusting
  22. Had a little success with the canary today on spending a stupid amount of time with our hand inside the cage with some food on, he went nuts hopping all over the place and accidently landed on daves hand and jumped straight back off. Atleast buzz now knows that the giant hand thing doesnt harm him when he lands on it but any tips?? We've had him nearly 2months and no real success apart from this, really want him tame as i wanna be able to let him out and to be able to handle him when he needs his claws clipped. im aware little birds are hard to tame but he's on his own everyday and i want him to be more involved, i feel guilty for him just sitting there singing and having no reply (apart from our grey trying to mimic) I know this seems very off topic from parrots etc, but thought someone may have some tips? I dont want to clip his wings, he's a small bird so i consider it too dangerous, plus i want him to be able to fly whenever he wants.
  23. me and dave have been wanting to buy Clëo a new cage, hers is big enough but i would like a new one. Unfortunately due to getting Clëo we are limited in funds, i am aware to spend atleast over a £100 but what would you suggest? most sterdy etc i really want a play area on the top as she spends most of her time on the top of the cage. What type've cage do you have for your grey?? and how much did you spend??
  24. hahaha, mines learnt to whistle the mario theme tune! thats funny to hear cant imagine how she'd do the gun shot  cool though
  25. Well she has a habit of trying to grab your zip or something and has to lean very far falling on her side in the process lol, at that point i cup my hand under her everytime she does this and support her a little bit whilst she's busy chewing away at my zip. my bf did it and this time got her to let go, though she then became interested in chewing his watch, but whilst she was distracted i dont think she really noticed she was suspended in mid air on her back! haha. sooo happy
