Peanut butter is what we used to get gum out of hair. Anybody else remember this?

here is Lucy (on left) and goofball at the dinner table. It is funny how their tastes differ. I made the perch from PVC. their little food bowls are removable and dishwasher safe! Sorry for not trimming the jute.

well I'll say they get along fine really, they eat together (I'll post a pick of that when I download the camera) and we put a bridge between their cages, Lucy's cage (new older bird) is much larger so Goofball will go over to 'her place' and the 2 will run around all over the place talking, etc. We can actually leave them alone together while we're working around the house. Thank you so much for your responses. This forum is great. Pics to follow

we have just aquired another grey (4 yr old female) in addition to our first grey (15 month female, we've had for 12), anyway we currently have their cages about a foot apart. While at a show a few weeks ago we saw a big 'double' cage with a divider (sliding door) made of bars to "keep em seperated". First question is can 2 females bond, second question is can they bond in that type of cage? We'd like to get one as it would save some space. I'd like to hear opinions.. thanks,

I hope this wasn't allready asked as I didn't read every post in this thread but someone mentioned not clipping till after their first molt. Being an infant in bird caring myself I have to ask at what age should your grey be if you were to clip? the vet clipped Goofball when he was maybe 7-8 months old. And how long does it take to regrow those feathers if they were clipped to say 25%?

thanks for you input MrSpock....another quick one on topic....at what age is a grey 'full grown' (not to be confused with 'mature')? I've heard 3 yrs or so..... that right? Even at 15 months goofball weighs alot less than Lucy (4 yrs) and a bit smaller as well.

having 4 cats (and 2 CAG's) we pretty much leave their cage doors open so they can climb/play with each other all day.

Roughly what percent of greys do eventualy talk ?

and does the birds "happiness/care" influence their behavior that way? sharing a home with other birds (like or not) have an impact? inquiring minds........ -
wow, haven't been here in a while. I'm not sure I have an opinion (yet) but sure could have used you guys (and gals) a few weeks ago. We presently have one CAG just over a year old and had the opportunity to acquire another (wtf?) The latter one, Lucy is famle and ~4 yrs old. My wife wanted to put them in the same cage which I had to argue about (and won). Well it was interesting watching "goofball" get used to it's new sibling. Not knowing the sex of GB and wondering about the bonding between sexes we had him DNA'd and sure enough is also a female. It's been 3 weeks now and so far so good I think. they play/eat together and their cages are about a foot apart. I'd like to ask the resident experts the good and bad news about these terms. the youngster not going to talk as much? GB has bonded with my wife and Lucy with me which works out I suppose.... Any comments/experience/advice would be very much appreciated as we're only a year into the bird thing....and yeah, they DO appear to be spoiled..

I concur completely. My mother-in-law had a cocketiel for 23 years, well she took in a cat about 5 years ago and somehow the cat got a paw(claw) through the bars a nicked the bird....she found him in the bottom of the cage next morning. it's like having an infant in the house.....never leave them unattended (outside the cage)

thanks, it's kinda high-tech. well to be honest, It's empty at the moment. Since it wasn't drilled I had real issues controlling the water quality. pH would crash and the fish would go suicidal etc,. SO.....to make a long story longer, I tore it down and had it drilled last week. I hope to have it up this weekend. Live planted tanks are tough to manage.

they are discus (fresh water) funny that a big reason we got our CAG was from a womans avatar (of a CAG) on the discus forum. so here we are! woo hoo!

we keep an eye on everyone you can bet

lets not forget about these guys. yeah, Mr & Mrs. Doolittle here.

well, he thinks he's better than us! cats no problem. truthfully I was concerned (cautious maybe) but the novrlty has worn off (a month maybe). Now we'll actually find him wondering down the hall (while vacuuming, etc) with the cats trailing. a few are still curious (want to play actually), but no problems to report
