2. My CAG is not a quiet bird at all. He is very vocal and loud from at 6:00am onwards, not continuously he will stop for some time then decide to start again. At night he hardly makes a sound. We live in a semi but thankfully the neighbours don't mind the noise. Probably comes down to the individual Grey, also. As has been said, Greys and all parrots for that matter need a proper, good quality, and spacious cage. There are many shapes and sizes available.
3. Unfortunately, from what I've heard and read, it is strongly believed that the Glaucous Macaw is an extinct parrot. But I hope and pray this Macaw still exists somewhere, anywhere

Post edited by: DarkGreenGoblin, at: 2009/03/14 20:07
4. My CAG is named Mr Alex. He was originally going to be called Alex (nothing to do with Alex the famous Grey, I just like the name in general) but then my nephew kept calling him "Mr Alex" from the movie Madagascar, then my Grey started saying it, and it just stuck from there, so Mr Alex it is
5. You know, some people shouldn't be allowed to exist. I feel certain we've got a couple of candidates for that list here. Lets hope, where ever Robert is, he is being cared for, and pray for his safe return.
6. The Metro. Thursday May 22, 2008 Parrot who sang like a canary... Many parrots can squawk something like "Who's a pretty boy then?" but it's no use when they're away from home and lonely. However, Yosuke came up with something more constructive when he got lost - his name and address, including the house number. The African Grey had been taught to recite the information in case he went missing. And when it did happen police spotted him on a city roof. They rescued him but he refused to talk, let alone sing like a canary. Yosuke was then sent to a veterinary hospital where staff couldn't shut him him. Not only did he sing, he also came out with "I'm Mr Yosuke Nakamura" and his address. "We checked it and a Nakamura family really lived there" said police officer Shinjiro Uemura, who helped reunited the owner with his Grey in Nagareyama, near Tokyo, However there was a lack of gratitude of the parrot's part. "I tried to be friendly and talked to him but he just ignored me" added the officer. I found this newspaper article from last year, when I was going through a box of me paper gear, and I thought I'd share it; I don't know if it's been mentioned before, but at least other people can now read it, if they missed it. I thought this story was mega, and a great idea, provided you never plan on moving address
7. Well, now that I have introduced Alex, I'll introduce you to his Vocabulary. The list is what I can remember from memory. He knows just over 1/3 more words than is listed. Also, he has learned quite a few "choice words" but I have removed them from the list for the benefit of any members who may be offended. Alex’s Vocabulary Alfie Alex Alright? - (Always his greet when I come in the room) Anyone want tea or coffee? Away! Bloody ‘ell…. Come here Daniel! D’you want tea? Er, Hello? ‘Ere what happened?? Geordie Get Down! Get down, go on! Get down, you fool! Get on your mat! Go away! Grow up Hello? Hello If you hate Arsenal stand up…! Hey, mum! Lay down! No… Oh, god Oi! Pikey Right! What? What!? 8. Alright, people. I am considering having my Grey Microchip Implanted. The vet who he is registered with (who specialises in Parrots) does microchipping. But to be honest, I don't know much about the subject, and I'd like to know more before making a decision. So, if anybody could throw some of thier opinions my way, the pros and cons sort of thing, it would be much appreciated. - ChriS J M
9. Thank you again for the warm welcomes. I look foward to getting to know you all and your Parrots. - ChriS J M
10. Hey, people. Thank you for the warm welcoming messages. Much appreciated. The only picture that I have, I this one. I apoligize for the poor quality; but it is the only one I have for the time being. I shall take some more decent picture when I next have the time, and will of course, post them for you. Should you have any questions regarding Alex, please ask, and I'll be more than happy to answer them for you. - ChriS J M
11. Alright, people? My name is Chris, I'm 17, from England. I have a 2 year old Congo Afircan Grey, who I have had now for 2 years. He's name is Alex. He is semi-tame (all but sitting on my arm or shoulder) He has quite a good volcabulary extending over 50 words, sentances, and noises. He picks up words fast and is a good learner. And he also knows how to annoy me into getting what he wants lol. He is very tame with me, he likes to play alot, talk, and generaly mess about. I look foward to exploring and learning from this site. - ChriS J M
