  1. If the person your friend is getting the bird from really says he is shipping using a mail carrying service of some kind, chances are it may be some kind of scam, or the person is trying to get away with something illegal, no good breeder would ship using fed ex or ups.
  2. I think it is about 50 dollars for your to bring your pet in cabin for most airlines. I think you should choose whichever fits your bird the best.
  3. Steve have you ever had a bird before, you said you were always interested in them, but have you ever had one? If not I don't think an AG is a good first bird. Don't get me wrong, they are wonderful creatures, all birds are, but, I have read in many places and agree that AGs are the best for first time bird owners. When I was considering a Grey the first breeder I talked to also suggested a senagal, they can learn to speak, are on the quieter side like greys, and they are a little smaller. I hope I didn't offend in anyway, I just want whats best for you and any future pets.
  4. Awesome! I am so excited for you.
  5. My first bird was a budgie. I got him when I was 13. And he was a wonderful first bird. He was easy to tame, loved to sing and dance, and his bite wasn't that bad. Also, they have a lot of personality, which surprises a lot of people because they are small. And he did fine with no mate.
  6. My Budgie was obsessed with teeth too, if he was on my shoulder or chest, and I yawned... whoa watch out, because his little head would be going to my mouth quicker then I could close it.
  7. Be careful with those water bottles with the balls at the end. Sometimes they can clog, make sure you check them daily, maybe twice.

  9. I think if you are getting a bad vibe, then you should find someone you really know and trust. Then you will feel less upset and stressed. The first time the birds may feel stressed, but they is expected.
  10. Thats amazing, and I am so happy for you and her.
  11. I agree, take her along. She will probably be more stressed out being left at home.
  12. My budgie hated red, he wouldn't eat red food, or play with red toys.
  13. I just wanted to say hi to everyone. I just joined today. I will tell you all a little about myself. My name is Rachel, I'm from New Hampshire. A while ago my first bird passed away, and recently I have been feeling the real effect of him being gone. It's so quiet in my house now. I will break off a little piece of food, and realize I have no one to give it to. Someone suggested to me a while ago that I get another bird. At first the idea made my heart ache, I would be reading about birds or just thinking, and I would just about burst into tears. So I took a big step and went to breeders home near where I live (my mom went with me for moral support). I was able to control my emotions for the hour and a half I was there, and it helped me a lot. I always wanted an AG, but I am a one bird kind of girl, so haven't considered it deeply until now. I found a good breeder I like, (I have found a few who were down right rude), and she is close enough for me to drive to. She has none for sale right now, which I am fine with, I am in no rush at all. So until then, I am looking for the right cage, and all the things I will need. If you have any questions about me ask away:)
