its all well and good them getting on for now, but that may change and may change very quickly as it did in my house hold. my grey and my 3 year old was best friend for a while but for some unknown reason now he hates her and shes distraught, she doesnt understand why he would want to bite her the way he did (nearly took her finger off)i dont let them mix any more and would be very weary of your situation too just be very carefull please for your childs sake hopefully yours wont come to this but always be on your guard and never leave them alone together .good luck

hes got there screams off to a tee i tell the kids not to scream and when i look round its him not the kids lol, hes just started following me when im cleaning my house and i think thats why he started getting giddy i think he gets adgitated when hes in a different room he doesnt quite no how to react to it :unsure:

ive stopped getting him out while my kids are in i wait till there at school and in bed, he has nearly took the fingers off 2ov my kids ,and last night he landed on my eldest sons head and for no apparent reason he bit his head but they scraem and when hes let go he mimics them so i think hes doing it for the reaction my eldest son didnt move ar anything last night cos he new what would happen iof he di ,but he got it anyway they cant win lol :unsure:

WELL THANKYOU FOR THE WELCIME, IF YOU LOOK AT MY PROFILE THERE IS SOME PICS OF ZAK ON THERE.AS FOR THE BIRD NEVJOE I AM HIS MAIN PERSON I GOT HIM AT 15 WEEKS OLD HE WAS SUCH A SWEETIE WITH EVERYONE BUT NOW I THINK HES POSSESSED :evil: LOL HE LIKES MY PARTNER WHEN HES GOT SOMETHING HE WOULD LIKE ,I DONT WORK AS MY KIDS ARE STILL YOUNG YET, WELL MY YOUNGEST JUST STARTED SCHOOL PART TIME SO ZAK GETS ME ALL TO HIMSELF ALL AFTERNOON BUT WHAT I HAVE NOTICED IS THAT ONCE HES BEEN OUT FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS HE THINKS HE OWNS THE PLACE (NOT A PROBLEM YOU MAY THINK )BUT IT IS WHEN HE STARTS GETTING AGGRESSIVE WITH ME HE LANDS ON MY HEAD IF I TRY TO MOVE HIM OFF HE NIPS OR FLIES OFF THEN SWOOPS ME ITS LIKE HES IN A PANIC FOR SOME REASON OR OTHER :unsure:

cheers for the welcome and helloo to you too i love my parrot to bits and my kids did love him too but he had other ideas he hates my kids and hisses at them and fluffs right up when they approach him he has turned to biting them because it makes them scream then while they are uncontrollably crying he's mimicing there screams and having a laugh lol

yeah we got the tutting and the clicking he even mimics my laugh sometimes the dog barking and every now and then he says hello but hes really croaky and you have to listen carefully for it lol i think he's going to be a closet talker lol

yeah thanx for all your feed backs they are all what i thought anyway just when you hear some talking the way they do at 15 weeks old i just thought mine was never going to do it and no bmustee i didnt just get a parrot so i can hear him talk iv got 4 kids for that and a partner that doesnt shut up i just thought he wasnt happy as he doesnt say anything ireally didnt no how old they were when they talked thats all but thanx for your coment anyway

yeah helllloooooo everyone pleased to meet you all i am new too, found this forum today its great i love the fact im not getting charged for advice on my grey and so may different views from people am loving it if anyone can give me any advice on getting my parrot to stop biting my kids id be very greatful thanx look forward to hearing from you

:unsure: my african grey zak is my baby he is 6months old and he is very vocal but doesnt say anything other than gobbeldy gook is it normal at this age that hes only vocalising and not saying anything we can understand? whilst i am aware that some greys dont talk at all it sounds like he is trying sometimes when he thinks your not listening he says hello but thats as far as he has got WILL HIS VOICE EVER COME THROUGH PROPERLY!has anyone had this with their parrots i went to the pet shop and 1 of theirs was talking at 15 weeks is my parrot not happy enough with me !
