after my post the other day about zak refusing to take a bath, i changed his water this morning and noticed him trying his hardest to squeeze into his dish so while he looked like he was in the mood i put his bath in his cage and to my surprise he jumped in it like he does it every day lol hes a natural at taking a bath he was having a ball and i didnt even have to try lol. while iv been putting the bath on the floor for all to see and him lots of space it seems he enjoys it better in private loli must think about getting him a shower curtain lol:ohmy: :laugh: :cheer:

hi ccan anyone help my grey will not take a bath he hates been sprayed down and gets really distressed when i do spray him i bought a cat litter tray for him to take a bath and while he seems interested if im playing in it ,it just seems such a hurdle for him to actually get in it himself :unsure:

yes he likes peppers, apples, sprouts, grapes, raisins, apricots, carrots everything really i buy the bags ov dried fruits really tho most of the time but he does get apples and grapes alot thats the main fruit my kids eat and he loves the kids as long as they share lol any other time he doesnt like them

thanks lovemygreys that section helped i think hes just doing what all other greys do, hes on complete food mix (nutribird p15) so i think hes getting all the vits he needs oh and i do put extra calcium (calcivet)in his drink a couple ov drops a few times a:silly: :cheer: week i think am doing things right lol let me no otherwise plaese

hi every1 not been here for a while my computer broke down but we got a new one now so now i can say happy new year to you all bit late but better late than never lol. anyway can someone tell me how long it would normally take for a greys beak to shed zacks been on with it for some weeks now although his new beak is looking good it seems to be taking a long time is this normal?:unsure:

my zak always goes red round the eyes when he comes out of his house i think it must be an excitment thing cos he does it when i give him a kiss too its kinda cute :blush:

this makes me sick! if you knew you had no vets near you (as you obviously did living on an island where there is nothing)WHY on earth did you invest in a parrot or any animal at all, they are like us and from time to time WILL need a doctor this infectoin could disturb his throat and his balance and cause more harm than good so please do the best for your faithfull friend and spare a little money and time by gettimg him the care he needs. oh and welcome to the forum:(

cheers danmcq ive kept an eye on him and yes eating drinking playing all brilliant i think i just got him over excited he was rolling around in play and its the first time hes done this so i made the most of it and made him sick then when he stood upright again i thought he was showing off his new dance moves too but thats when he did it :ohmy: :sick: :blush:

hi i was playing with zak this morning when i thought he was learning to dance i was egging him on when he opened his mouth up and out came what looked like some of his food hes on complete mix so its different colours and it was the orange 1 he brought back twice is this normal could it be he just had a bit cought in his throat or was it because i was ruffing him up a little that he acted like a baby would after having a bottle?hes fine now and is still quite willing to play what was this can anyone give me a clue !shiould i be worried?:ohmy: :unsure:

hi can anyone give me any ideas on how to stop zak sitting on my head ,the lady i bought him from always lets her babies sit on her head and yes he loves it although me and my partner hate it. im at a loss his nails dig in and i wouldnt normally mind but i suffer with eczima on my scalp and he irritates it so other than all of us sit in the house with caps on is there anything we can do .ive tried been persistant with him in taking him off anyones head but its not working hes very stubborn HELP.:unsure:

yeah i agree, mine doesnt like been misted he really hates it. so i went and bought a cat litter tray and filled it with tepid water i put it on a towel in the middle of the room and leave him to it although he doesnt get in it fully he loves to splash in it like a child in a paddeling pool he particully likes it if i play splashing also with my fingers he gets all excited !:silly:

hi can some one give some advice to me to pass onto a friend of mine plaese.he already has a parrot and its very tame but his elderly neighbour has asked him to do something very special for her, she has a grey and as just found out she has terminal cancer her grey is round about 55years old and the lady is all the parrot knows she has asked if when she dies can he take her grey and take good care of him.he is very willing but also very dubious as he does'nt no how her grey will react to moving from the owner hes had so long.will he get depressed?start plucking ?or show symptems of a broken heart and make himself poorly? or will he just slip into a new life quite easily? i feel so sorry for my friend as he doesnt want to let her down but he also doesnt want the grey to die on him soon after its owner. as he said he would feel like he failed her.what should he do for the best please help thanx :unsure:
