1. Dont worry to much Steve, they soon learn how to find their bearings, make sure Alfie has a few possible landing spots. He may have a few crash landings but you will be surprised how quickly they become skillful with their flight .My B&G macaw had 2 bad landings & that was it,she looked like an expert from day one
2. Jim's a normal grey & Rosie definately has some cinnamon, she looks a lot lighter than Jim,it will be interesting to see the babies markings
3. How old is your grey Christian ? How many feeds is he on a day ?
4. What are Rosie & Jim ? Normal greys ?
5. Christian wrote: lol. the handfeeding I can do. but accidents happen

Post edited by: Christian, at: 2008/08/21 06:23 Have you experience in hand-feeding then ? Perhaps change to spoon feeding it dosent carry the same risks of tube feeding & in my opinion is a much kinder method to feed a baby
6. Janfromboone Thank you for the feedback,it's nice to hear what our members think.I'm biased but it's one of the best grey froums on the net
7. I Think he may be just a cinnamon Siobhan, doesn't have the classic pearl appearance This is a good link for mutations & cross mutations .. http://www.cockatiel.org/mutations/index.html
8. If fed in moderation meat is fine,i wouldnt suggest feeding your grey meat on a daily / weekly basis, just as an occasional treat.Remember a little bit goes a long way on the portion side, one small piece of meat is more than sufficient for a grey. Many of our members here do feed their greys a chicken leg with little meat on it,they love to gnaw on the bone & will often eat the marrow which is good for them.Always supervise your bird when it has a bone
9. Hi Nesha & Welcome. We look forward to hearing more from you & all about CJ

13. One of my greys,Alfie is a big boy much larger than his brother Freddie, but both parents were big greys. He is my gentle giant wouldnt have him any other way
14. "So the book says he should do it when you say turn around " Well did the book say run before you can walk Give him time & teach one thing at a time as not to bombard him with commands.Teaching him from an early age is fine, just take it slowly so he fully understands what is asked of him.

21. Hi milks & Welcome to the forum "The book I have says that a hand raised bird will associate entirely with humans and not birds. It says that while a parent raised bird will be timid to start with it is less likely to develop behavioural problems later in life if" Sorry but i totally disagree.Any bird, hand or parent reared can develop behavioural problems. "The hand raised grey would be more accustomed to humans" This is what the majority of grey owners want, but equally many of us keep more than one grey,They can maintain their human relationship alongside having another bird as a companion.
