1. Well i think Pryde is the smallest CAG here. She always, no mater when I weigh her, is right around 355g.
2. I plan to go away for a week and a half at the end of September. I already have a pretty good bond with Pryde, in fact she has definitely chosen me as her favorite person. Since she has taken to biting my husband, she will be going on vacation as well, back to the breeder while I am gone. I know that even if she wasn't biting my husband he would not let her out enough so this is best for everyone B)
3. I got medium for Pryde, but it is a bit big. She only weighs 350 grams, so she is small for a CAG. She wears is though and hasn't gotten out of it.
4. Right now I take her from room to room with me, or put her away, as I don't want her to come searching for me, much too dangerous in this house. She is still clipped at this point. The breeder clipped her after she fledged. From the top of her playtop cage she makes it about 10-15 feet. The dogs each have gone at her in her cage. She had come to the front and was flapping her wings like crazy and it really set them off, 2 separate occasions and 2 different sets of dogs. Well, I don't take things like that lightly and they only each did it once, the wrath of mom is just not worth it. Since then I have taken her out and let her hang on the couch with me. They show initial interest then quickly lay down and ignore her. She has flew off her cage and landed around the dogs. My largest, most prey driven dog won't even get up anymore and the others aren't so much the bite first ask questions later type. I have gotten really good at reading them and their intentions. In fact last night Pryde decided to fly off and LAND on the beagle who was curled up in a chair. The beagle hardly looked at her, but I still move faster than I ever thought I could. Mostly not the dogs hang out under her cage to eat the food she drops. The also get a treat of all the uneaten fresh food she leaves behind. They love anyone who will feed them

Post edited by: Pryde, at: 2007/08/14 16:08
5. You know that is exactly what I was thinking with the dogs. She likes to fly down to get to me, I think. I would like her to 1. actually make it to me, it that is what she is aiming for and 2. for her to be able to fly back up out of the way of the dogs if she needs to...
6. danmcq wrote: We definitely are having a good time, and as long as I keep distracing her, or we keep moving, she really leaves the harness alone. You know I haven't been to Santa Cruz or SF in so long, just such a pain to get to these days. You know Napa would be a fun place to take her too as well. I used to do all of these things on a regular basis, but now I stick closer to home.
7. Yes, I am very lucky. We only have a few places that have outdoor seating nearby, but if I am willing to travel to other nearby towns most of them have really cute downtown areas that are filled with outdoor areas and lots of people walking around. Great for socializing dogs, so I am sure good for birds too. We are also lucky with the weather. It might be hot during mid-day, but usually cools down to very tolerable dinner weather, I usually even wear a sweatshirt.
8. They have outdoor seating where we often take the dogs. I figured if the dogs could be there so could she.
9. We took Pryde out to the Outback last night. I put her harness on her and off we went. She was a very good girl. She sat perched on the back of a chair and threw her food around. She had a couple tantrums when I wouldn't let her on my shoulder, but calmed down rather quickly and settled in again. She took a little nap at one point. Then we went to Circuit City and did a little shopping. I am actually surprised by the lack of attention she drew. I get more looks and comments when I am out with my rottweilers...
10. How sweet, he looks like he is actually smiling!

frozen grapes

My vet is recommending staying away from grapes at this point. While birds really do love them there have been trouble with grapes and raisins with dogs and the vet is saying better safe than sorry.
12. We had our 1st vet visit today for a well-bird check. Everyone was sooooo in love with her, of course. She went to everyone with only a little complaining, and they were able to do the whole physical without the towel. They were very impressed with her behavior and her beautiful purple/green iridescence.
13. That is hilarious, the things they come up with, but really? Do you live near a restaurant?
14. It does go by quicky, Drizzle will be home before you know it, and then the fun really begins! Make sure your camera is charged and you have a full "roll"!
15. Oh yes, having lots of fun. I don't need to have a tv anymore, she is way more entertaining! We had the aviator on today and took a short walk outside to distract her from it. I think it is a little big on her yet though as she grabs it with her foot all the time. She is delicate and small, only about 360 grams.
16. I am female and so is Pryde. So far she will step up for anyone, but she is only 16 weeks. I hope to keep her this way though, we socialize a lot right now.
17. Things are going very well. As it turns out Pryde is quiet the ham! Here is another photo for everyone to enjoy I would attach more, but I don't know how to do more than one

Post edited by: Pryde, at: 2007/08/05 02:05
18. Dayo and Pryde are almost the same age! She is 16 weeks today. Where are your dogs that Dayo can follow Kim around? Pryde is pretty good about sitting on her play-top and waiting for me to return.
19. Yep her name is Pryde. Here is another picture of her:
20. My breeder started Pryde out on a seed based diet, a lot like Joshua's. I plan on introducing Harrison's and use it as an additive, but not replace the seed. I wsa getting worried that she wasn't eating enough, but she seemed to start munching down this morning.
21. Well, not officially yet, but in my line of work pets are generally not allowed. Since I am still working she isn't getting any extra attention right now. My breeder actually recommends against any sort of routine at this point so she won't get used to anything and will handle change more readily.
22. Well I don't know how much I will really be able to take her to work. We just got notice of our company being shut down on Tuesday so now all rules kinda go out the window  My co-workers would like to see her more though, so we will see. My last official day is October 5th and I doubt my new job will allow her to come to work. She is very curious, she is climbing all over her cage right now and chirps at me every time I go near so that I will let her out.
23. Oh shoot, I tried to edit the image and now it is gone. Here is one closer up...

Post edited by: Pryde, at: 2007/08/03 05:01
24. I got her Wednesday night and have been so busy that I finally have time to post! She came to work with me today to meet some co-workers. I put her on my monitor while I worked and she fell asleep  She has been so good, takes everything in stride, just hope it stays that way. I'm trying to introduce her to anything and everything!

Post edited by: Pryde, at: 2007/08/03 04:58

Clicker Training

I don't have my grey yet, but I do plan on using the clicker with her. I have used the clicker with my dogs with great success.
