Birdhouse, I tried your mash instead of cantaloupe (totally forgot that I just bought) I used mixed vegetables, otherwise everything else the same, almost a total success, 5 out of 6 liked it, Zeus was the only one not eating it =O I even tried it, not bad at all I take that back, now that I think about it, it was a total success! All the greys ate it!! That is Huge! LOL

LOL and Max is such character, his 1st day here, hubby had brought him in the house, set the carrier down on floor, opened the door, Max walked out, Joe guided him towards his cage (same one he had at previous home) he climbed up the legs, into his cage, And slammed the door shut on Joe

Hahaha So true with the greys! Our 1st 2 who have been with us 3 years now! Finally realized that were not trying to poison them and are now turning into moochers when they see hubby eating, and it doesn't matter if they have same thing in their bowl, his taste better lol. I like to experiment with food, I don't want them to get bored eating the same thing all the time, some days they like my concoctions then other days, not so much lol

Okay now, I'll take that! Loki had her beak in bowl for the longest time since having her here, and all I had to do was sit in Thee most uncomfortable rocking chair on this planet that is next to her cage in the kitchen and eat my supper she didn't eat everything mind you, but more than she done before.

Haha yup! Several weeks ago, I had been scrubbing the floor the old fashioned way (on knees) well after several times of getting up off the floor and back down, my body was aching, I made 1 little sound I let out a loud sigh, well Max started imitating that sound, only he was way over the top with it, and every time I'd walk into the room or out he would let out a obnoxious sigh, didn't take to long and all 3 greys were doing it, of course silly me left out a good laugh, and for weeks all three would do the obnoxious sigh oy vay Hubby says that I must have been doing it a lot for Max to learn, I deny of course

I don't believe the woman who I got Loki and Zeus from really knows what happened to Loki either, she only had them for a couple of months, she did tell me that Loki looked worse than the pictures you saw, and that Loki wasn't a picky eater, yeah well she sure could have fooled me! either that or Loki thinks my prep skills stink lol and is teaching me to jump through hoops, with the exception of apples, I can't serve the same thing twice, yeah she has me trained really well

Right now we have a contest going on here between Lucy (b&g) and Zeus (zon) seeing who can talk louder, Lucy wins by default but Zeus is trying like heck to beat her lol. Then the greys chime in with their repertoire of sound effects, Lucy gets irritated and starts screaming Stop It! Shut Up! Out! LOL she's a little bossy that's my little princess

LoL, gosh we've been using that term so long, way before the birds, similar to goofball, it's certainly not used in a derogatory way it's just one of those words that we use that is interchangeable between human and pets

Yes, this is a term of affection for all of our pets, I'm the head nut I've been a long time lurker here, finally joined because I had some concerns regarding our newest member to our home Loki. We have 6 parrots, all are rehomes, which evolved over the last couple years. Our first 2 Bonnie & Clyde (CAGS), and youngest, 5 year old bonded pair came to us 3 years ago. Lucy (B&G) joined us Feb 2014, she's approx 8 years old. Buddy aka Mad Max (CAG) (think Walter Matthau, "Grumpy Old Men) arrived shortly after Lucy in August. He's between 30-40 years old. Our newest additions Zeus & Loki (ZONS) have been with us a week, they're 28 years old. Also bonded

Oh my! LOL! I'm so glad that they can't pull the bowls out, I will say they are a good shot though lol

That's the thing with these guys, they have no problem letting you know that your food prep is not up to par! Ugh the rejection lmbo! ; P

LOL the only thing I've heard Loki say is bad bird, and she does it in a quiet voice, unlike Zeus lol! I tell her No, you're a good bird, and you're my pretty girl (I was told that she is a she) I think you might be on to something lol, maybe he doesn't like my prep skills lol! The others usually just fling food at me if they don't like it lol
