  1. Just wanted to do an update on Ajahni (aka Johnny). He has grown so much and developed such a personality. He gets around as good as any bird, he can even land on my arm and shoulder, but prefers to stand in my hand or just sit on my chest and watch tv and get neck rubs. He is fully flighted, which really helped his balance and confidence. Seems he's not afraid of anything, loves new toys and exploring. Well here is a pic of him watching me get the fruits and veggies ready.
  2. Just took a few more pics of Ajahni. He's getting so big.
  3. Thanks Birdhouse and Greywings, appreciate the help, links and pics. I'll post some pics when I get it setup.
  4. Greywings, thanks for the pic, exactly what I was looking for. Ajahni amazes me everyday, he keeps walking better, loves new toys, and enjoys playing with pellets, fruits and veggies. Today while sitting on my chest watching tv, he began to climb around and made his way up towards my shoulder. His one leg still slips every so often, but definitely keeps doing better. I am sure when he learns to fly that it will greatly improve his balance and just add to his confidence.
  5. Just a quick pic of Europa relaxing on my leg while we watch tv. She's doing great at stepping up, always acts like she wants me to scratch her neck, but not sure I trust her yet
  6. Just wanted to post another pic of Ajahni, he's doing good. Working on setting up his cage. So here he is chilling on the couch, walking around a bit. He still loses his balance once in a while when walking, but getting better.
  7. Thanks! I have been looking at some of the large guinea pig cages, not sure how they'd hold up. I know someone previously mentioned a chinchilla cage in another thread I was reading. Was thinking about 40"-48" long and 20"-24" high. With horizontal bars and some shelf perches, then plenty of toys. He really loves toys. It will mostly be for him to sleep in and when I'm not home, as I hate keeping a bird in a cage.
  8. Been searching google looking for some pics of how people with greys that are missing feet or most toes have their cages setup. If you happen to have any or know a link, can you please share. Thanks.
  9. Tell your son congrats, and it's great to know another grey has found a permanent loving home.
  10. Was just looking for a tent for greys, thanks.
  11. Greywings, thanks for the info, I'd love to see more pics of her setup if possible. I was planning on a ferret/chinchilla cage, as I heard it works better since they are longer and the bars are horizontal. Today I placed a small toy in with him, took about 30 seconds and he was playing with it. He's also interested in playing with some pellets from the dish, so looks like things are going good. Here's some pics for anyone who likes pics. Playing... Busted. Caught me taking a pic. Checking out the phone, he's very curious. Getting some love
  12. My 16yr old is named Europa, they named her after a moon of Jupiter. My baby is named Ajahni, which means he who wins the struggle, since he has no toes on either foot.
  13. It's great to read about a grey that is getting a second chance at life. Makes me smile every time I read one of these posts. Also sounds like she is warming up to you, I know exactly how it feels the first time they trust enough to step up, it's great! Thanks for giving a great home to a grey in need!
  14. Very cute. It is amazing how fast they change and how quick they learn.
