I beleive that is true with any bird or grey. My grey well scream but then step up for strangers but most strangers are put off by that scream. My amazon well go to anyone if Im not in the room. lol And Dandy just bites everyone everytime all the time. Topaz is a baby so still a sweetheart.

Now thats what Im talking about no little tiny pieces of shell left and done in 2 seconds. WOOT I can have eggs now anytime. lol

I always QT new birds. Most of us just know this and can't remember that new people need to know this too. Great post.

What a great idea. Wish I had thought of that. But then again the wood I used was free and I was able to put wheels on my play gym since I used wood. I love the box my husband made for my parrot play gym. See my photos for a picture.

I have an amazon that is wild caught he is around 27 years old. My green quaker Dandy is at least 14 years old. Both of those are rescues so the ages are guesses according to what little info I have. My amazon Joey we know if wild caught and I beleive they stopped importing in 1991 or 1992. But the lady I got him from said he was about 18 maybe 20 years old when I got him so Im going with the younger age. I have had him almost 9 years. Funny I got most my birds within the same year. lol My TAG Que is 8 years old. And then there is Topaz (blue Quaker)she is just a baby she is 3 months old. lol

Sorry can't wait that long having boiled eggs for breakfast in the morning. Been thinking about that all day.

Its just me and my younger sister and when my mother was alive she once told me she wish she had no children. Not that she didnt like up but she hated sharing. Money/Daddy ect...lol

My amazon is the same way only I have to put him back in his cage for him to poop. He just wont poop at all if I am holding him. My grey on the other hand well poop on my face if he is up on my head. :woohoo: That is so fun. Ya right. :dry:

Oh I know. When I went to Medevil times years ago. They had a falcon show. It didnt kill anything but it was so graceful and it come back everytime.

Now that Ill have to try thanks for finding that sounds so much easier.

Glad you found something that works with your bird. With mine I have to take my shirt off. So I just dont let Que up there anymore.

Its the drama. When we swear we do it with excitement and loud. So stop doing that. lol I have heard it is easier to change words then stop them. Like say truck instead of well you know. Or Duck. Or Much. And instead of .... sat sit or kit or mit or pit. Anyway you get the idea. Oh and never react when they say the bad words. You must ignore it. No laughing. I don't dangle my harness on the cage. It is way to expensive to let a bird chew in two. I do have it near the play gym so all my birds can see it. I can get it on Topaz but my Grey still want let me touch her. It may take a year or more with my Grey. Another great way to take your bird outdoors in the mean time is one of those adventure packs. You can strap it on just like a back pack or carry it. Im getting one with my Christmas money (Grandmother sends money ain't that nice lol) Good luck and don't give up.

There is really no reason to have the other bird at your daughters. As for the fact the bird seems to be intacting with you more it was just the right time. I really don't think it has anything to do with the other bird. Every bird is different this one may be nothing like your other one. That is why I waited 7 years to get a new pet quaker. I did not want to compair it to my first quaker and be disappointed. Please try not to do that. Glad you seem to be making progress. You got a lot of great advice of things to try I hope some of those are working out for you. Got any pictures or both your greys?

You can hand feed him all your life if you like but I would stop handfeding the formula. It can make them fat. Try plain oatmeal instead or warmed up human organic baby food or baby cereal with no additives. My grey well still take food from the syringe or spoon. However mine does not get it everyday Im lazy that way. lol This well come in handy if you ever have to give meds.
