Well I have a lot more then parrots. There are two people we can call on to come to our house and check in on the pets but its a lot to ask of someone. We have taken short weekend trips but try not to be gone more then two nights.

Rather then get the bird in October and turn around and leave it or move it in September maybe you can get the breeder to keep the bird till you get back. Or at the very least bird set for you so that they are in a known home. If not maybe leave the bird at your house and have a parrot friendly person visit your bird while you are gone. The reason I say parrot friendly is someone that won't be afraid of the bird and be able to let them out even for just 15 min a day while your gone. I don't vacation something I just cant afford to do with my small zoo.:side:

I am sorry I do not wish to offend but to educate and keep something bad from happening. 7 hours away or 70 hours away it would be worth it to make sure my bird is safe in this case. If it were something going on on the outside of the bird and you should see it was ok then ya don't go but on the inside you can't see it and birds are really good about covering up illness and injury. Get a pair they are much more fun that way. Little harder to tame if you plan to tame but so much more fun to watch and a lot more chirping going on.

You can sand it down so no rust is left and use a paint that is child approved. Then keep a really close eye on it till you can get a new cage. If the paint chips at all you'll have to redo it. Bird fairs IMO is the best way to get nice cages and most of the time cheaper then pet store or on line prices.

Your vet said he would be ok? I would find a different vet. There are so many things that could of happened. Your bird could of spit it up and everything is ok. Or he could of spit it up and cut himself on the inside. Or it could of moved on to the tummy and be ok or it could of ripped something on the way. Only way to know for sure is to ex ray. Its a risk I just would not take. Not tring to be mean just tring to get you to see the bigger picture. A trip to an avian vet and have it be nothing is 10x cheaper then doing nothing and having your loved pet die.

My husband is not crazy about my other birds but when I got my budgies he commented after having them a few days "Why can't you just have these and not keep the others" lol He loves watching them and he really likes them as an alarm clock. When the light come on at 7am they start to chatter and he thinks that is the best alarm clock. lol

Granted but the clouds go away and you fall to the ground. Wish I had room for more budgies.

This is my grey budgie Pepper. He is my fave. Am I allowed to say that? lol And this is the finch that lives with them. His name is "M" yep just M he use to live with "S"

But it only comes in puke green and nothing ever matches it. I wish I could go camping for a weekend.

Oh well then. Que is trained to stay on her play gym. She only gets off of it on her own if something spooks her otherwise she well stay there for hours. Topaz is not a grey but she is harness trained. She well let me put on and take it off without making a fuss about it. lol I dont do trick training. I figure I'm way ahead of the game keeping her happy. She doesn't scream, pluck and well accept new toys with no problems. Those are enough tricks for me. lol

Woot I am sure you all well do a great job. If you need anything just yell.

No way of knowing for sure unless you go see a vet. Birds are good and making themselfs look ok even when they are not. Please don't risk it.

I first started playing EQ when I was working full time as a dog groomer. A co worker interduced me to the game. I liked it but didn't play except on my days off. But then my sister started playing too. She and I had a very strained relationship but the game brought us very close and we still are even though I don't play EQ that much. I am so glad we had that time even if it was in a game. lol

I am hoping the reason we have not heard anything is cause she had to make a long drive to the avain vet. Maybe well hear something today. I sure hope all is well.
