Well my African Grey (hates water) doesnt seem to care when the vacuum's on, but my other (not a grey) bird tries to take a bath in the dish and even acts like hes getting sprayed, he flaps around the cage and shreiks.

I had my 4 year old CAG rescue for about six months before I brought home a tiny stray kitten. The bird was used to dogs (previous home) so a cat was no thing. What you have to worry about is the cat attacking the bird. If you get a kitten you can raise it up to know that if it messes with the bird, there will be trouble. I used a spray bottle to accomplish this and also, when the kitten was still small, I let him swat at my grey so he could learn a lesson, and he did when the grey bit his paw HARD. You can never trust them alone however as the grey might tease the cat as mine does.

Can anyone tell me what food is good for my Grey and what food is poison

I`m just dropping in to ask a question. My sister recently lost one of her 2 African Greys. Rather sad. She had the little brat for over 20 years and Charlie still chirps away in the background on her answering machine. My sister had an autopsy done and the diagnosis came back as lipid pneumonia. I have not come up with anything in a search except for the disease as it occurs in humans. Anyone out there have experience with this disease, or know some sources?
