Several of the internet sites that sell all kinds of parrot stuff also sell the moth traps, one that comes to mind is drsfostersmith.com.

Good thread Joe, thanks for reminding all members to get involved in posting and not leave it all to me and a few others. And this is saying something for Joe as he is a two finger man, he does not know how to type but he gets in there and hammers away at his keyboard and gives us some good advice and good times. I love his wit and he makes us laugh at ourselves.:laugh: I did give some karmas to you this morning but I don't tell everyone I give karma to them, I just do it.

I love your new tattoo of the CAG, Joe, very nicely done, and I share your enthusiasm for wanting to show it off. I have a new one I got a few weeks ago and I need to post a photo of my hummingbird, its on my leg. Thanks for sharing this with us and especially me.

Oh no, I am rolling around on the floor laughing again, somebody help me up cause I can't stop laughing, I must have missed Dave's post on the 8th. You have outdone yourself again, Dave. {Feel-good-0002006E}

You know Tracy, I love that one liner too, I may just have to add that to my signature.:cheer: Dan I love that smurf.:laugh:

Yes family and friends, you can't beat that. I did hear about the fireworks from a friend and I have no comment on the open forum about that. I just like helping others and having some fun. {Emotions-000200C6}

Mark is right, birds can and will starve themselves to death rather than eat unfamiliar foods. You could mix the seeds with some pellets and gradually increase the ratio of pellets to seeds until he is having almost all pellets. Of course this will take time but eventually it will accomplish the task of getting him off seeds. Then you can use the seeds as an occasional treat.

Yes that is true, but sometimes it is the person they are bonded to that they view as their mate. There is not much you can do if they choose someone other than you when they do choose a mate, you will just have to learn to live with it. It doesn't mean they will not have anything to do with you if they choose someone other than yourself but the relationship will be somewhat different. I wouldn't worry about it for it may or may not happen.

You can either give them whole or cut them in half for Klaus, but the seeds are ok, its apple seeds they are not supposed to have.

Tari is the expert on this subject, she has pictures in hers all the time, I'm sure she will be on soon and tell you how to do it.

They don't always change their favorite person when they reach sexual maturity, they can but it depends. I wouldn't worry about something that may or may not happen. What exactly do you mean by breaking your heart, you mean if they do change their favorite person? Most greys are fairly quiet, my Josey is quieter than my sun conure who does occasionally scream. But they are far quieter than a cockatoo or macaw, on a scale of 1-10, I would give it a 4. This is of course my opinion.

Hello and welcome to the family, Debbie, we are glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your new rescued grey. I always love hearing from new members that they rescued a grey, you have taken on something that most people would prefer not to and that is taking in a rehomed bird. Most resuces come with baggage that makes it difficult to deal with but with lots of love and patience you will have a true gem I am sure. Why don't you tell us a little more about Mikka, how old is she, how long have you had her, how many owners has she had and such, it will help us understand you and her better.

Hello and welcome to the family, Agreyboy21, glad you decided to join our greyt forum. We look forward to hearing more about you. I see from your profile you are researching greys for a future purchase, you made a wise decision to learn all you can before you purchase your grey. You will learn a lot from our various threads here on numerous topics concerning all aspects of grey ownership.

Thank you Tracy, thank you, thank you, thank you.:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I too see a few downy feathers from time to time, I don't worry about it. Congrats on the spoken phrase, "I love you", I know that made you very happy, we all love hearing that.

Beccy, glad to hear you found a good baby toy for Brian, I need to go shopping in the toy store to get Josey one, she would probably enjoy playing with one also.
-
Well I know you will think the next 4 weeks will drag by but it will be here before you know it and glad your baby will be home soon. Thats a good size cage, maybe no more than six or so toys to start out with and then you can rotate them on a 2 week schedule. I would get a couple of rough perches, maybe concrete ones to help with the talons, and make sure they are of different diameters. I feed a little red palm oil every day to Josey and my sun conure, Sunny, about 1/4 teaspoon in some oatmeal.

Debating - Don't lose your cool or friend
judygram replied to danmcq's topic in Off-Topic Discussions
I won't debate that, Dan, Joe is a man of many talents. On topic now. I don't much care for debates so I will leave that for whoever wants that, I am here for fun and fun is what I will have one way or another, anyone want to join me?

Post edited by: judygram, at: 2007/09/17 04:17 -
Hello and welcome to the family, Steve and Ken, glad you could join us, we look forward to hearing more about you two and your greys. Thanks for the great compliment, we like to think we are a nice bunch of greyt owners who care for one another and love to help out in whatever way we can. If you have some pictures of your greys, please feel free to post them, we would love to see them, as you can tell from looking at our site, we love photos.

You are not asking for much are you? Just kidding, for now. I could recommend some good books that will carry a lot of information that will cover most of the questions you ask. One very good one is "For the Love of Greys" by Bobbi Brinker, it has loads of helpful info on all aspects of grey ownership. Also we have loads of threads here that deal with every situation you have mentioned and if you will take the time to read thru a lot of them, you will find the answers to your questions. If you have not already done so, please introduce yourself in the welcome room so we can get to know you better, and do you already own a grey or just researching before you purchase?

Good evening to you too Joe, and how is it in sunny Florida, we have had a couple of very nice days here in Virginia, West Virginia and Ohio where I was over the weekend.
-
Toni, I know you are enjoying Alcazar and you are going to do fine with him. And I can't wait to see pictures of him. Maybe he is throwing out the purple ones for you since you love the color of purple, yeah right.
-
Never fear, Judy is here, I went on a little weekend jaunt, the second in a row for weekends, but now I am back and I don't have another planned for awhile. But nice to know I am missed here, but please don't shed any tears, it would break my heart. Seems like a lot happens when I am gone and I will stay here for now, post my little heart out, I have to keep my count up for Dan is trying his darndest to narrow the gap between his and my post count.

They like to be part of the flock, they want to be where the action is and that is wherever you are, and if the dining room is the central part of your house then thats where they belong.

Thanks Tracy for the list of abbreviations, I knew some of them but didn't realize there were a lot of others.
