I know that greys choose their favorites and that it is not necessarily the one who spends the most time with them, just like we as humans like some people and not others. This does not mean that you cannot have a good relationship with Greyson, it will just be different from the one he has with your sister and future daughter-in-law. Just don't give up on him, I think he will eventually come to allow you to do more with him than he does right now so continue to do what you are already doing and accept what he allows for now. I think once he comes to accept and trust you that he will be more willing to let you touch him. Patience is key here.

He could be a girl if you haven't had him sexed. But as far as having little ones he would have to have a mate to do that and pet greys do not make breeder birds so you don't have to worry about that. But I would try to discourage any sexual behavior, take away the ping-pong ball and don't touch him on the back, under the wings and the tail area as those are their errogenous zones.

Gary, have you tried getting in touch with the Chamber of Commerce in Myrtle Beach and see if they can help you with avian vets in the area. You can also do a search for them online. Please do introduce yourself in our welcome room and tell us a little more about you.

Hello Tommy and welcome to the family, so glad you have decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your flock. My you have quite the zoo there but I am sure they keep you company as much as they are work to take care of, pets do make life so much more enjoyable. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so read thru them at your leisure and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Thanks for sharing some pictures with us, they are a lovely bunch of birds and they look like they are having lots of fun.

Hello Cori and welcome to the family, so glad you have decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Suzanne's grey Alex. So you are a nutcase, well why not, you certainly have good company here on this forum, you will find lots of other nutcases, me included so you will fit in nicely. Now why in the world would you get mad at the birdies, maybe that red hair has something to do with it, you think. If I am not mistaken you and DJ, aka Wisewun1, are about the same age, don't you worry, I will keep my eye on you two, no shenanigans going on here if I can help it. Ok you done your homework yet, if not you better get off the computer and do it now:laugh: or else:lol: otherwise have a little fun here and don't tell Mom.:woohoo: B)

Birdwoman, I think the advice of taking Billy in to see an avian vet is exactly what you need to do, get a clean bill of health to rule any physical reason for the plucking then you can worry about behavioral reasons. Why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us a little more about you and Billy.

You did good Bonnie and you got a good looking Cag, thanks for sharing it with us.

I like that name also, unusual and you don't hear of it too often. Congrats on being able to bring your babies home soon, I know the wait can be unbearable but worth it when it finally happens, the final week is the longest:laugh:

What a sweet picture of you and Woody, you two look like you are getting along just fine and glad to hear you made it thru Ike and his wrath. I know we all can get busy with work and all but do come back as often as you can and keep us informed of any new progress but it looks like you are set for a lifetime of happiness with Woody.

I am so sorry for your loss of Spike, you did everything you could for him but it was just not meant to be but you will always carry a little of him in your heart until the day you die and then you will be reunited again at the Rainbow Bridge. I have included the link to that fabulous poem that may bring you some comfort and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. http://www.greyforums.net/forums/pet-memorials-/95814-rainbow-bridge.html

Very nice Heather, you certainly capture Harrison in action very easily but then she is an excellent subject isn't she, thanks for sharing your handiwork with us, I always enjoy gazing at your photos.

He is what he is and it looks good on him Pam, I love it.

Gaevren I hope you are not hoping in vain either and I will not try to tell you what to do, this is your choice to make but you do what you feel you have to. I really wish Spike could get better and who knows he may just pull a miracle out of his beak and do so, in any case he is in my thoughts and prayers that he pulls thru. You have done about all you can do for Spike but don't blame yourself whatever happens and keep us informed, we care about you and Spike.

Hello Ccabel and welcome to the family, so glad you have decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Harley. Most birds and that includes greys love to throw their food and especially if they have an audience or they get a reaction out of you when they do it. That is the key here, they may not stop it entirely, birds are wasteful creatures but they are going to continue to do what gives them attention. The best advice is to ignore it and accept the fact that birds are gonna be messy. Please read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. We would love to see some pictures of Harley if you have some you would share with us.

That is very sad news and who knew that it would still be a danger to them outside in the open, thanks for posting that for us to see Cflanny, you may have saved more than one bird's life with that.
-
OMG Penny, I am so sorry to hear of this, what a loss the bird world has suffered and a personal loss to you too Penny for I know you thought a lot of him. My condolences go out to his family and his flock.

I have one of those smooth cooking tops, mine is built into the countertop, it isn't much different from any other hot appliance, it has the potential to burn anything put on it when it is hot. But I love the clean up, no drip pans to catch stuff and eventually rust out. You use a special cleaner on it and it cleans up in a snap.

So you kept your promise LOL to notget another bird but your fiance did, thats so sweet that he has a soft spot for the disabled ones. Where most people would have passed that little bird by because it was not perfect he sees the inner beauty and companionshop she has to offer, he sounds like a keeper Pam. I look forward to seeing those pictures when you get the chance.

I pray that Zazu is found safe and returned to his owner along with all the other animals and pets that were lost in the storm, may they find their way home.
