Wow it sounds like you handled the introductions to his new home just right and he is adjusting well, you have done an excellent job with ZZero and he is a cute little character. Thanks for sharing your story and the pics of ZZero with us, we do love to hear how it goes with a new grey owner and you are welcome to update us all you like.

Lots of greys will dance to music and I am sure yours is no exception, it would be wonderful if you could video some of it for us, we just love watching greys dance and cavort around for the camera.

I think the reason Simon has adapted so well to his new home is the fact that he came from a loving home. I don't know the circumstances of how you came by him, I would imagine his former owners hated to give him up but I guess they had their reasons. He certainly is used to being with people who love and care about him and that is why you probably won't find any behavioral problems and you are truly blessed to have found him. Maybe you can share that story with us some day. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so read thru them at your leisure and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Thanks so much for sharing some pictures of Simon with us, he is a handsome grey all right, it is obvious that he was well cared for.

Oh yeah Carolyn, Josey stays on hers a lot, I think she even sleeps on it, I can't be sure because I cover her at night but she is always on it when I uncover her in the morning. Thanks for sharing that pic of Mika enjoying her boing with us. B)

My Josey is bonded with me but she is gradually developing a friendship with my husband, she will allow him to give her treats and will step up for him if he has to get her off the floor. I don't think it is because she hates men, he does not have much to do with her so she regards him with some reluctance but she has become more tolerant as time goes by.

Hello MBSolberg and welcome to the family, so glad to hear you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Simon.

Hello Lynette and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this new grey you are getting. Congrats on getting your first grey on Wednesday, I know you are very excited about that and maybe a little apprehensive too but you have come to the right place for help and advice. Please read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Will this be a just weaned baby grey? If so we have a nursery room where you will find a lot of helpful hints and suggestions on feeding and socializing your new companion. Would you be so kind to share a few pictures of your new flock addition with us as we love pictures here if you hadn't already noticed.

Allright Carolyn, you saying we have a place to stay if we come up?

Hello Janeth and welcome to the family, so glad you found us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Echo. I understand you have taken in this grey from someone who can no longer care for it and I am glad you were able to get this grey since you have always wanted one. He probably does come with some baggage since an 8 year old grey will be set in his ways but with lots of time, patience and your loving attention how could he refuse. Please read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. We would love to see some pictures of Echo if you would share some with us. Please check out the rescue room, even though Echo is not a rescue, he is a rehomed grey and a lot of the threads there could be of great help to you.

I did enjoy this video of Mischief, she gets down with it, thanks for sharing it with us, short and sweet.

Tony, get over the nervousness and go for it, he is picking up on that and you never will be able to handle him if you don't, he may bite but offer the back of your hand in a fist, he won't be able to get a good hold of your skin. And if he is reguritating for you then he does accept you, he likes you so go for it;) :cheer:
-
Yes you are but Saturday will be here before you know it and then the fun begins, at least you are prepared, all you need is the bird, tick tock, tick tock, oh cut that out, 6 more days and counting:cheer:

The baby in the pictures and video is absolutely adorable, I can see this grey is going to be much loved and spoiled by its owners, thanks for sharing Chloe with us.

Mary I am so sorry to hear you still have not found your grey, but do not give up as she may still show up yet, I know you feel the worst has happened but keep positive thoughts that you will be reunited with her again soon. Like Talon said we as owners should take the responsibility to keep our fids safe and sound and that means they do not go outside without being in a cage or enclosure of some sort or on a harness. We have seen it time and time again of birds who were clipped or had never flown away before get spooked and do indeed fly off and a lot of them to never return. I will keep you and your grey in my thoughts and prayers that she will safely return or be found and returned to you.

Actually that is a really funny looking picture, you see the butt end of one grey and the head of another, looks like he is turned around and looking out his rear end:laugh: but thanks for sharing it with us.
-
Congrats TeriRose on your new grey, Sweet Pea sounds adorable and yes maybe you can teach him some new words, and pictures if you can manage it.
-
Well if you are like us we always get numerous phone books each year and you can always pick more up at the post office, people will drop off their old ones for recycling and if you need a few you can just take them.
-
Yes I can see the difference, you are doing a wonderful job with him, Yvette, way to go girl, thanks for sharing this pic with us and keep us informed of his progress.
-
Good for you Brittany, go see the baby every chance you get and do read thru the threads as much as you can for you will find lots of helpful information but you are going to do fine.
-
You have been paid the highest compliment Amberly, he has regurgitated for you, he has brought up some food from his crop to share with you, count yourself blessed. I know it looks gross but he wants to share his food with you, you are accepted by him, and even though this is normal you do not want to encourage it so just ignore it.  B)
-
Thanks Jennifer for sharing those pictures of the bird festival, loved the cockatoos, looked like you and the birds had a good time and I did enjoy. B)
-
Thats wonderful Brittany, thats good quality time and got to feed him too, I know 2 months sounds like a long time but will be here soon, trust me it will.

ZahrasMom wrote: She does this with you because you allow her to do it by letting her get away with it. You will have to block her from going any higher but constantly keeping her from climbing higher. This will take time and many, many times doing it but she will eventually stop doing it, just be patient and persistent with it.
-
Well we might have paid a lot more for ours but they were worth every penny of it Yvette but I guess you did get a bargain.:cheer:

Hrund wrote: Thank goodness:laugh: Josey has growled like that Cag in the video Dan provided but not at me, just when something or someone got a little too close or scared her, it is not a pretty sound and I don't hear it very often but I have heard it.
