    feet?

Caroline is right, at 15 weeks of age, Skye has not been perching for that long a period of time, young greys are not as agile and sure footed at that age as they will be when they are a little older. He probably doesn't feel secure enough to stand on one foot with something in the other, but give him some time and he will be doing it with the best of them.
  2. I know what you mean, I have that babble ball and Josey was not impressed with it, now it is in the bottom of a box of other bird toys and anytime it is disturbed you hear a sound. The phone sounds like a better deal.
  3. What if you don't have a basement, our house is built on a concrete slab?
  4. Congratulations to Heather, Dave and Dan. Like Penny I have known Heather for quite a while and I know she will do a fantastic job with the training room. Dave, well there is no other person on this forum who is better qualified to take the health room than him, I have the utmost confidence in him and I know for a fact that he will do his best for he is the best, my personal opinion of course, we are so blessed to have his presence, besides he will keep us ROFLMAO with his wit and humor. Dan, well what can I say but thanks for what you are doing, keep it up.
  5. I don't know much but a few members here have the ringneck so I will give you their names so that you can pm or chat with them about the bird. Zooman and Tycomoms are two members who have those birds or know a lot about them and I think they would be glad to share their information with you.
  6. Tony, you are going to have to ignore it, plain and simple, any time you give any kind of reaction to ot it is only reinforcing the behavior. I know this is not what you wanted to hear but it is the only way. You will have to put up with it for a while until he learns that it is not getting him any attention.
  7. What a cute shot of your baby Marion, thanks for sharing it with us.
  8. And Hootie is a cutie, sorry, I couldn't resist:blush: Well at least no name has a name now, Hootie, what a hoot:laugh:
  9. When you get this situation squared away, please make an introduction post in the welcome room and tell us a little more about you and this grey.
  10. I am sorry to hear you are stepping down as moderator of the training room, you have been a valuable member of this forum and I will miss you and your wit. I wish you and your flock much happiness.
  11. I am so sad to hear that you are stepping down as moderator of the bird food room and the nursery, you have been a valuable asset to this forum and you will be missed. I wish you luck in the future and all my best to your flock and family.
  12. Hello Hoodoowoman and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Oliver. I assume Oliver is either a rescue or a rehomed grey and how did you come about getting him? Would you share that story with us as I am always intrigued by how people come by their greys? Please read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Would you like to share some pics of Oliver with us as we would love to see him.
  13. Congrats to Digitalfeather and Cflanny on their winning entries, but they were all great shots.
  14. Very nice pictures of Harvey, he looks so graceful, thanks for sharing them with us.
  15. He is a sweet looking Tag and yes there is a slight blue tint to his feathers in the sunlight. Most greys do head for the shoulder as that is the highest point without going for the head, if you don't want him up there then you will have to keep him from going up there by taking your other arm and stopping him. This will take a while but eventually he will learn that he is not allowed up there and quit trying. I do allow my grey on my shoulder but I trust her, she comes down when I ask and I keep an eye out and watch her body language and if I have any doubts I keep her off. Thanks for sharing a picture of Bellisimo, he is a lady killer all right. B)
  16. They look pretty good to me Heather, so you are going with Annabella, I like it a lot and it does seem to fit as she is very graceful looking in her pics. Thanks for sharing some shots of AnnaBella Strella, the Cag "formerly known as Harrison" Like that new signature too.
  17. When one door closes another one opens, it was just meant to be Amberly and I couldn't be happier for you, I bet you are on cloud nine at the moment. Can't wait to see some pictures after you get it.
  18. Nice setup Stephanie, Gryphon is going to be one spoiled grey, thanks for sharing it with us.

    FIRE

I am so sorry this has happened to you and glad no one was hurt but it serves a purpose to remind all of us to prepare for such an emergency. We hope we never have to experience anything like this but you just never know and it can happen so fast. Thanks Penny for making a thread so we can all make suggestions as to what we need to do to be prepared for such a disaster.
  20. Thanks Di for sharing that with us, you would think since that is a bird treat it wouldn't have something sharp like a staple in it, good thing you were watching, karma for you girl:) B)
  21. If my birds were loud enough to be heard by the neighbors I wouldn't have any hearing left, I could probably go outside and hollar to the top of my lungs and no one would hear me:S
  22. Why didn't I think of that!!! {Emotions-00020070}
  23. That last one with the lei around him is adorable, I can just imagine how Josey would react if I tried to put that on her, ouch:pinch:
  24. I might try getting one for Josey, my sun conure uses one but I never got one for my grey, she gets up on the highest part of her boing and sleeps.
  25. Yummy, yummy, in my tummy, looks like what he is thinking when sticking his head inside the jar. I see a few red feathers there on the side of him, it may or may not molt out. Now that Marion has got the hang of posting photos I guess we will be seeing lots of hers, way to go girl and thanks for sharing this pic with us.B)
