  1. You know that garden of mine is looking better and better all the time. And yes if you are speaking of natural fertilizers such as manure it does sound disgusting but that is the way of the farmer especially a cattle farmer.
  2. And I am sure the cag you want to keep now so I guess you have not been able to find his owner?
  3. And that trick with letting her see you eat it works a lot of the time too, they are like a child they want what you have so be sure to try that. Sometimes we have to get creative and work those veggies into other things, take a look thru the bird food room for ideas.
  4. I absolutely love when they do that, he is so cute, thanks for sharing another pic of him with us.
  5. I can see why Natasha, you have a very pretty grey, thanks for sharing him with us.
  6. She needs the vegetables more than she needs the fruit, try offering them in various ways, maybe she would prefer them one way over another but the important thing is to keep offering them.
  7. My you have waited quite a long time Suzy but you are ready now, all you need is a breeder to get your baby from, I hope you find one soon and let us know what you find out.
  8. Soon those door facings and trims will be yours Carol and then the real fun begins. They are growing up and soon they will be home with you, won't be long now, thanks for sharing the latest pics with us.
  9. Now that is interesting to know, I wondered how we came to have those "baby" carrots which I suspected were not true baby carrots, they are manufactured and I had no idea they were soaked in a chlorine solution. Most of the time I use regular bagged carrots only getting the baby carrots for snacking or to use for dipping but I have fed some to the fids, well no more. Thanks Maggie and Jay for bringing this to our attention.
  10. Hello Kimberly and welcome to our family, we are so glad you have decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you. Does this mean you may get your own grey or does just being around your daughter's grey provide you with enough of a greyt experience? Do you have any birds of your own? They are addictive and a lot of us have more than just our grey, some of us have more than one grey. Do read thru the threads for lots of information that may be of help with dealing with Murphy and ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can.

  13. So Clyde became Bonnie, nope she won't be an outlaw, she is too sweet for that right dawn? I don't know about the injections but maybe someone who has a grey that has had them will share what they know about them. Congrats on the negative test.

You can send some on down to me Dave, heh heh. I am going to have to get my hubby to plant some like he did one year, I could go out into the backyard and pick it off for the birds, they loved it.
  15. That sort of looks like some kind of cheesecake with fruit topping, looks good, I'll take a slice too with my margarita.  :cheer:
  16. Thats a great idea but go easy on the peanut butter as it is high in fat, my birds especially my sun conure loves peanut butter but it is an occasional treat.
  17. Ecko is adorable, absolutely adorable and I agree that last pic is the best, you should put that as your avatar.
  18. I think that would be a good solution to have the former woman who raised your grey to take care of it, she should be knowledgeable enough especially if she has one of her own. I also use the woman I bought my birds from to babysit my birds but I have to take them to her house for she has a house full of them so they have plenty of company. Since she is a "stranger" why don't you get with her and take your grey with you and get to know her a little bit more, you can get a feel for her and her place by observing her and her birds then you can decide if that is the route you want to take.
  19. Why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome & introduction room and tell us some about you and your grey.
  20. No it isn't, greys are very cautious birds and very scared of new or different things. Please take the toys out and put them somewhere close by for him to get used to them, bring them closer and closer until he is used to them before putting them in the cage. This may take several days to weeks before he will accept them.
  21. Oh my so many greys lost and hearts are broken, yes like you I would be searching high and low until I found my baby. These stories make me so sad for I know how I would feel in the same situation but I pray that the birds are found. I know you have a found one but if you found his owner you would give it up but until or if the owner is found you are enjoying him and he is settling into his new home. Pictures, yes please post pics.
  22. Happy Hatchday to you Jasper, you have a good mum to give you a palm nut to celebrate, heres to many, many more:kiss:
  23. Looks aren't everything:S but thats the best thing to do and in time the others will come in and he will be fully feathered again.
  24. Well we have a found grey and a lost grey, too bad they aren't one and the same but tell your friend to not give up, knock on doors, put up posters and get the word out that one is missing, I will pray that your friend gets the grey back soon. I wouldn't worry too much about the weather as he can survive thru that, his biggest enemy is predators, tell him to put his cage outside with the door open and some food inside, you never know he might come back to it, stranger things have happened.
  25. Have you heard anything more Natasha?
