  1. I actually like the job I am doing now but if I could do it at home that would be a dream job. What would you like to come back as after you die?
  2. Have you tried looking for breeders by state at these sites? www.avianbiotech.com www.birdbreeders.com
  3. Yes indeed I would say she trusts you if she is doing that and that is a great feeling isn't it, now if only Josey would go belly up but she just doesn't go for that.
  4. Congrats Linda on Maxi taking some flights and she is doing such a good job, just wait until she builds up that muscle and boy will she soar. I am still waiting for Josey's flights to grow out so she can do the same thing.

Thats great news Shelia, your mum has been thru a lot and I am so glad the treatments are over with, now she can get back to enjoying her life. You enjoy your dinner and have a drink for me too will ya, thanks for sharing the good news with us Shelia.
  6. Well I am glad you found a solution to your problem, giving her something else to chew on will help keep her busy and away from the furniture, a busy grey will not be looking for trouble, at least that is what it is supposed to be, thanks for letting us know what you did.
  7. Hello Bry and welcome to our family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this new grey you want to get.
  8. There is no "normal" feather plucking, they are either preening and getting out the feathers that would otherwise fall out on their own or they pluck, plain and simple. Plucking is a problem with greys but I wouldn't refer to it as "normal"
  9. Usually if it sounds too good to be true it usually is a scam but you did the right thing to ask questions for they are getting more clever with their tricks.
  10. Look at those two adorable little kittens, I love the white one, thanks for sharing a pic of them with us.
  11. So glad to hear Adaya is doing fine, we all worried for nothing but then that is being a mom. Congrats on your granddaughter, first one huh, I have two granddaughters and one grandson, now spoil her rotten.
  12. Hello Mary and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Nickel. Thats great that you could take Nickel in when she was in need of a new home, do you have any other birds or is this your first parrot? Hopefully she pulled some feathers due to the fact that she laid several eggs and maybe that is over with now, anyways she looks good from the pic you shared, just missing some feathers. As you have already found out we do have a ton of useful information in our many threads so continue to read thru them and ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Yes we do love pictures here so if you want to share some of them with us we would appreciate it very much.
  13. Josey does not poop on me any more but Sunny is another matter but I never go out with any poop on me for I wait until I am getting ready to leave before I change clothes, that way I am sure I am ok. Some have great success with potty training their greys, Josey will give me signals that she is about ready to drop one and I hold her over a trashcan and she will squeeze one off.
  14. I like the global swing the best of the two, I really like the one that Caitlin shared in her post, they look like they would be great fun for greys.
  15. I can imagine how you must feel Pat, I would be so worried and on pins and needles until I saw those pieces of button pass without any problem. You have much on your plate tonight with Adaya and another grandchild on the way, let us know how both turn out.
  16. Yep, tomorrow is the big day, the day your life will change forever but heres hoping it all comes off without a hitch and I know we can count on you to update us as soon as possible after they arrive.
  17. Never heard of Photofunia but I like the pictures, thanks for sharing them with us.
  18. Thanks for posting that, was so sad to read but it serves as a lesson to all of us, made me sick to my stomach!!
  19. I am so sorry Tommy but at least he is not suffering any longer, remember the good times you had and you will see him once again but in the meantime he is flying freely over the Rainbow Bridge and he is pain free.
  20. Helen they do shake their chest feathers when they are nervous or a little fearful and that earthquake would do it so don't worry about that, its normal.
  21. OMG Pat, I wouldn't have thought she would have swallowed it but if she did then I would at least call the vet and ask about it, I would be freaking out. Please let us know Pat.
  22. Do you have any rough surface perches in his cage? I have some cement perches in Josey's cage, they help to keep the talons filed down somewhat but they need them to be fairly sharp to climb and you noticed the clumbiness after the clipping. This vet sounds like she needs to improve her bedside manner and if you suspect she may have caused that scratch on Partner's face and didn't mention it then it may be time to find another vet, my opinion of course.
  23. Wow you are very creative Pat and I can't wait to see the finished product, then you will have to tell us what you made it out of.
  24. I am so sorry to hear of this Tommy, my heart goes out to you and you will know what to do after some soul searching, I know you hate losing the little fella but you have to think about what is best for him, that is all that matters at the moment. I will keep him and you in my thoughts and prayers.
  25. Well just pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get back on and build that trust up again, like I said all is not lost. Sometimes we have to take a step back before we can step forward but one day you will look back on this and laugh.
