    question

If she is going thru a molt you are seeing pieces of the keratin, the sheath that surrounds the new feather, what we call the pin feathers and when she preens she is loosening up from the feathers and you see it fall like dandruff. She might benefit from more frequent baths and especially aloe vera juice sprays to help with the itchiness.
  2. www.drsfostersmith.com has Kaytee YoDips:)
  3. But knock yourself out getting your grey to wear a hat and when you do be sure to share a pic with us.:side:
  4. Oh that is a Halloween kitty all black and sleek, what a handsome cat and I like the name Dominic, thanks so much Melissa for sharing some pics of him with us.
  5. The oranges you can quarter one up and take a section and open it up, kind of spread it out a bit and put that in their bowl, they will peck out what they want.

    what a week

Glad to hear it Shelia and soon you will be back to normal but what a scare, now would you tell us what the freakiest accident was if I am not being too nosy, just curious and you know we all love a good story.
  7. May 29 is also National Hug Your Cat Day, so lets all cat lovers hug your little sweeties today.
  8. Look at Boesman, he is a handsome fella, even if he does have pink on his back:laugh: oh well it will all come out in the next wash:lol: thanks for sharing a few pics of him with us.
  9. Natasha, thats wonderful that you have a best friend that would do that for you and vice versa, not everyone has friends like that, you are so blessed. It is morbid to think about but it is a reality of life, none of us are going to escape it and the older you get the more you think about it and if you have wishes for what will happen after you are gone then now is the time to make those wishes known. I am afraid my birds will have to go to a rescue or sanctuary as my kids have no intention of taking them, they do not share my love for birds, my daughter loves Sunny, my sun conure, but she doesn't like her scream and she is afraid to try to handle Josey. Those of you who have family to take your birds are very lucky indeed.
  10. What cute pictures of Torry, I love the first one, what a cute shot, thanks Natasha for sharing some pics of him with us, you have a handsome fella.
  11. Something you can do with the rawhide "bones" you get for dog treats, soften one until it is pliable, unwrap it some to get it around the cage bars and then let it dry, there you have a toy that is attached to the cage and can provide hours of chewing fun.
  12. That Koko is something else, must be a hoot to see her trying to greet the breadman, maybe next time she will get it right in time, thanks for sharing that with us.

    Poor Conure

Gosh Jay, you and Maggie are so wonderful for doing what you love and providing such care to birds who otherwise would be homeless and if anyone can bring Buddy around it will be you. With all those birds around it is never a dull moment I bet and it keeps you busy too. Would love to see some pictures when you get the chance.

  15. Thank god my dogs are not inside the house or they would be begging too but I know all too well the begging that dogs can do and those sad doggy eyes just wishing a morsel would drop and they would be on it so fast your head would spin. Thanks for sharing that pic with us and I think Ecko is quite a tease.
  16. He does look awesome, a very handsome fella, I would be very proud of him too, thanks for sharing a couple of pics of Jeepers with us.

    what a week

OMG Shelia, thats terrible but it could have been worse, hope it heals up nicely and then it will be a thing of the past. I know what you mean about one thing after another happening, like a snowball effect, it gets rolling but tomorrow will be a better day, I know it. Take care of yourself and welcome back.
  18. They are very addictive but my limit is two, at least that is what I keep telling myself, I would like another but I only have two shoulders so I don't know where I would put a third. I would love to have many more but I would have to not work a full time job and have endless amounts of money.
  19. Kiwi is a cute little bird and that is strange that she has taken a disliking to your mom but glad you can handle her with no problem, thanks Caitlin for sharing a pic of her with us.
  20. You go girl for this grey needs some attention, how some people treat their pets is beyond me, if she loved him enough she would find him a new home, if you can't get anywhere with her, give me her phone number and I will have a talk with her myself as I am pissed off now.
  21. Yeah Jon you need a bigger cage and you can find some reasonable if you look around, the bigger the better they always say. I leave pellets in Josey's cage all the time, her bowl is high up and I just put more in when necessary.
  22. I do most of mine online as I live over 25 miles from the nearest pet store and the stores that are around are pet not bird stores so the stock is limited, I find all kinds of variety online. I do a lot of online shopping at www.drsfostersmith.com
  23. Gosh, they are growing in leaps and bounds and so pretty too, I especially love the white one as that is one color I don't think I have ever had and I have about had all colors but my favorite is the yellow tabby like the Garfield character.
  24. I wouldn't worry about it, as individuals some may just prefer to sleep on the cage bottom, the important thing is that he eats, plays and otherwise acts normal then things are fine.
  25. Aw man, I could lay here all day but be sure to wake me up in time for din din!
