  1. I am so sorry to hear of your loss Penny, I know how much your horses mean to you and your kids, please accept my condolenses.
  2. Wow, great hots, I love a full moon, thanks for sharing your shots with us.
  3. Glad to hear you enjoyed your vacation and your birds were just fine and they probably enjoyed he change too, even though we love them dearly we need some time away occasionally, it helps both.
  4. Thanks for sharing these pictures with us.
  5. That sounds like my two parrots, Sunny will do some of her vocalizing and Josey will be quiet and all of a sudden she says "shut up" she doesn't say anything else but that so I know she knows what it means.
  6. Yes you do have a big boy and you may be right on it being a boy, he is a looker, a handsome grey, thanks for sharing some pictures of Alex.
  7. Thats it, time and patience but I can imagine how your husband is impatient as I have one the same way. Josey is my bird and I do the handling of her but lately she has been allowing him to pick her up and she gives him kisses, something she wouldn't have done a year ago. She definitely has a different relationship with each of us but you have to respect her wanting to be left alone or not petted at any given moment. Dave always has the best advice, you can count on him to tell you like it is and he really knows his greys.
  8. Some people do not have a clue and they obviously are not parrot people but I have never had anyone ask me if Josey is a pigeon but I can be very forgiving if need be.
  9. Is she very playful or comical like the conure?
  10. That would be so cute to watch if you can teach her the whole song, I would be rolling on the floor laughing my can off so get that recorder back real soon ya hear. She may feel she has to compete with the cockatoo and show him/her that she is top bird.
  11. Cleo certainly has you pegged doesn't she, Josey does not try to pull any tricks like that, I have no problem putting her back into her cage at bedtime or anytime for that matter.
  12. Josey imitates my laugh and if you could hear me laugh it would have you in stitches, she copies so many sounds sometimes I have to think is it the real thing or is it Josey.
  13. Thats a cute little bird, how big is that bird, about the size of a conure?
  14. Yes Nick the babies are so adorable at that age, you just want to scoop them up and hug them, can't wait to see some pictures and good luck at Walmart.
  15. I hope you feel better soon Natasha, it is never fun to be sick and know that we are thinking about you and hope your surgery goes without a hitch, take care of yourself, ok.
  16. You do take such wonderful pictures and even the one with the cigarette has its merits but not the act of the smoking itself, thanks for sharing them with us.
  17. I really am so sorry to hear this Connie and you must be devastated but time will heal the wound and you always have your memories and she knew you loved her very much.
  18. Congrats on your cockatiel babies, they are so adorable, thanks for sharing them with us.
  19. I knew it was a boy and the vet was right too, well congrats on a boy and will you change his name to "Z"? I know how those migraine headaches are, I suffered thru them for years, nothing you can do but go to bed, hope you feel better soon.

  21. I know you will be so relieved when you can finally put your hands on your son and give him the biggest hug possible, tell him he is a very lucky man and no we as mothers will never stop worrying about our children, its just not possible.

    Greyt News!!!!

What a dream job, Cassandra, any one of us would love to take your place, they obviously know you love birds and what an opportunity for you, congrats and let us know how it goes.
  23. I have sugar snap peas in my garden ready to eat right now, in fact I had some for dinner last night but the birds didn't care much for them. FYI, sugar snap peas are peas that you eat the pod and all and you pick them before the pea fills out while they are still slim, you can steam or stir fry them and it only takes a few minutes, very good and good for you.
  24. That could be it right there, she might be going thru a molt and just doesn't want to be handled for some can be very sensitive to those pin feathers. I would respect her wanting to be left alone or not picked up and give her a little time and then try later. The others before me posted some excellent advice also.
