Emma is always so entertaining in her videos, she is a very sweet grey, thanks for sharing her with us.

Thanks for that reminder Carokine, I completely forgot about placing the perches lower so any falls would not be from a great height, karma coming your way for including that tip.
-
Did you cage come with any bowls as most do? I would use them for food and water but if you have to add bowls put the water bowl on one side and the food bowl on the other so they have to do some climbing to make birdie soup. Put some perches close to the bowls and make sure some are the rough kind so it helps to keep the nails filed down. A boing is always a good addition to the cage, hang it somewhere in the middle, my Josey uses hers to sleep on. You are right about the cage being against the wall, they like to know they have one side that feels safe and of course it needs to be in the room where the family spends most of their time. Others might chime in with their suggestions and they may be better than mine.

You have a cute puppy Cassandra, thanks for sharing some pics of him with us.

Bruce I had to laugh at first but I understand you are serious so here it is, I am an old timer but not with greys as Josey just turned 3 years old last month and with a dna'd female I may have the same problem in the future. Take away the box, it is giving her the notion of nesting and you don't really want to encourage that, if she likes playing in things give her some paper or cardboard boxes that she can destroy. You don't want her laying eggs but you are right to leave them for a period of time then take them away. I doubt very seriously if she would mate with a male grey as conditions have to be just right and she may not even like or tolerate a male you bring in. Usually pet greys do not make breeder greys and vice versa so give up that notion that she needs a mate. She needs her usual attention from you and the rest of the family and to avoid touching the areas that heighten the arousal, the back, under the wings and anywhere around the tail area. As far as her displays of affection, just ignore them and do nothing to encourage her to continue, she is just doing what nature tells her to do but the box has to go as she sees it as a place to go lay an egg. If you are considering getting another grey just to be able to mate with Mazy then forget it, more than likely they won't even get along and lets not even go there about a Tag and a Cag together, they are different species and would not mate even if they got along with one another. If you want another grey just for the pure pleasure of having another grey then by all means do it but forget this notion of trying to get Mazy a mate to breed with she would more than likely not have a thing to do with him. Ok I am done now but I know Dave will give you some more advice as he is the expert here, I am just a novice but I have learned a lot from him. Nice to hear from you again Bruce, stop in more often, we have missed you.

Oh I love all three of the pictures, you have a real sweetie there in Ace, thanks for sharing them with us.

He is becoming more independent now and wants to make his own decisions and he has decided to take charge of how and how much he will allow you to handle him, there is nothing wrong with him, he is gradually growing up so to speak. Greys will do things in stages and they go thru changes as they mature and this does not mean he doesn't trust you any more, he has a mind of his own and you have to respect that of him. Just like some greys like to cuddle when very young they get over it and don't want to be babied anymore. Hope this helps you to understand that all is normal.

Well Bernie you are a sorry a** and precisely why I do the grill myself, but my hubby knows which side of the bread is buttered in my house, credit goes where credit is due. Thanks for the laugh:laugh:

Thats great, now why don't you share some pictures of said toys so we can admire them.

Britt, Sam has paid you the highest honor, he really loves you but he sees you as a mate, the regurtitating, drooping of the wings is sure signs of it. When he is in these moods do not pet him down the back, under the wings and anywhere around the tail as those are the errogenous zones for greys, it will only serve to get him more frustrated. I know to some people it is a gross act but it is the highest compliment for us bird people, you are so blessed.

Congrats to all the winners, in fact all the entries were winners.
-
They grow on you don't they, yes they do make very good imitators and you have to wonder if it is the bird or the dogs. I wish I could get Josey to dance, she will have none of it but she likes giving my hubby kisses.
-
Yes Roger, $600 is a very good price, if you really want one then get one.

We told you with some time and patience he would come around. He was biting because he was new to your home and he needed time to settle in and evidently he has now and more of his true personality is showing thru. I am so glad to hear he is a sweet bird, not to say that he may never bite you again as he might but watch his body language and you will know when he shows the signs. I hate to ask but when are we going to see some pictures besides the one in your avatar? Don't worry about your english, I can understand what you are saying.

That was very cute of you and Congo, thanks for sharing it with us and please do come back more often, you have been missed so much, I have thought about you many times and wondered how you were and Congo but I see both of you are fine. Congo is a good looking grey and you better get your can on here from time to time to chat and let us know whats going on in the life of Roger and Congo.

Boy that was laying it on the line there Jen but it is probably true. I don't have any experience with any kind of toos but I have been to the website mytoos.com and it really opens your eyes if you are even considering one. I used to want a rose breasted cockatoo but thankfully I talked myself out of it. I would suggest anyone considering a too should think long and hard before plunking down good money for a bird they may well get rid of before a year's time has passed. I like watching them in the videos on utube and seeing pictures of them but that is about as far as I want to be to them.
-
OMG Jan, how could you forget his hatchday, well happy hatchday to Tobie one day late, you better make up for it tomorrow.
-
Well thats great Pat, can't have your fids being denied what they really need, glad you found a site for them, can't wait to see some pictures of your fids enjoying them.

Its so good to hear from you again Rob and Bella looks so adorable in her flight suit, you have it lucky then if she allows you to handle her to put it on and take it off, some of ours would not be so tolerant. Thanks for the update and the picture.
-
Rob, we haven't heard from you since your first post, would love to hear how Bella is doing now, everything still great?
-
Ceasar is a beautiful grey and your pictures make him look so fantastic, thanks for sharing them with us and good to see you back even if for short visits.

This is new to me too Char but I think it might be in cycles and not a continuous thing you would have to avoid petting and touching certain areas but we do have some members here who would know for sure and maybe one of them will answer your question. I tend to think your U2 is older than 2 years especially if she is displaying humping behavior and panting.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes and I did have a pretty good birthday, I am not getting older, I'm getting better, its so nice when friends remember.
