  1. Happy Hatchday Schroeder but what are the terrible twos, Josey is 3 years old and she is not much different that she has always been, maybe she is a late bloomer.
  2. Hello Dave and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you, Beaker, Bonnie and Clyde. Wow what a trio of greys and I am sure it keeps you busy but it is never a dull moment but they are so endearing you have to love them to death. Beaker looks like a handsome fella from your avatar but be sure to share some more pics with us if you have them as we love pics here.
  3. Hello Virginia and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Kokonino.
  4. I have one, lucky me, Starburst and Skittles are adorable suns, thanks so much for sharing them with us. That stance of one of the suns and your grey look familiar except my sun is the more aggressive looking one of the two.
  5. Congrats on having a girl, it won't be long now, she is such a pretty grey baby, thanks for sharing a pic of her.
  6. You got it, thanks for the laugh as I can always use it.
  7. That about sums it up, you are a smart cookie. B)
  8. Our bird club just had our annual bird fair last Saturday and I got a lot of good stuff including a new playstand for Josey. I am about spent out though but I got enough to do for a while but if I was closer I would come to this one as I love looking at the toys and seeing the birds there.
  9. Hmmmmm, thats a good one but that can in his hand might explain a lot, you think:blink:  :woohoo: :silly:
  10. Thats the one thing they do not do is have a screaming match, one does not try to drown out the other, I think they accept each other as company so they are not alone during the day while I work but Josey is by far the quieter bird. Now Josey does mimic Sunny's scream sometimes so I have to be alert to which one it really is but I usually can tell.
  11. For sure but my grey can be very quiet, it is the sun conure that is loud, its funny, the conure will be screaming and everything else is quiet and all of a sudden my grey will say "oh shut up" its all I can do to not laugh. Now they don't get along so I have to keep them separated so they never share a playstand but sometimes I have both of them on my shoulders, one on each and I have to keep the conure away from my grey as she is the more aggressive one, just jealous I guess but then she was there first.
  12. Now they are beginning to look like real sun conures except for all the yellow they will have after they go thru a molt or two, they look like mine when I first got her, thanks for sharing them with us, they are adorable.
  13. Hello Ernzzz and welcome to our family, we are so glad you found us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this new grey you are getting. You certainly came to the right place looking for all kinds of information for we have a wealth of it here in our many threads so do read thru them and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. I also have a sun conure along with my grey, Josey who turned 3 years old last month, she is a sweetheart and life has not been the same since but its all good though. I think its like riding a bicycle, you never forget how, you will be so knowledgeable about the greys before yours comes home that it will be so easy. Will you be able to visit your baby grey while it is being weaned, if so please get a few pics and share them with us, we love looking at the adorable babies?
  14. Thanks Caitlin for providing a link to look for vets in Matt's area.
  15. Pat this is a hard habit to break and once you allow them to go on the shoulder it is going to be very difficult to stop but you will just have to cut him off from going to your shoulder. Take your hand and stop him, you might get bitten but ball your hand up into a fist and keep doing it, you may hve to do it a thousand times but that is the only way I can see except for this. Try setting something up on your shoulder he doesn't like, maybe a stuffed animal, something he won't want to go on your shoulder because of. I do allow Josey on my shoulder but she comes down when I ask but if the day ever comes that I can't allow it then I will have the same problem but that is how it will have to be done. No simple solution and you may get bit but better your hand than your face.
  16. Sometimes it is best to wait until you either have it sexed if you are going to or wait until you bring it home and something about its personality brings a name to mind but you have plenty of time for that. Each grey is an individual with its own personality but there are generalities, most are quiet compared to some others, they are very smart as some members can attest to but they need companionship and things to keep them busy and occupied or they get into trouble. You better get started on reading the posts, you only have 6 to 8 weeks and we have a ton of threads.
  17. You have the sweetest grey, that Emma is such a joy, thanks for sharing her with us.
  18. I am so glad you found us and we have everything you will need to know for that new grey thats coming into your life, please read thru the many threads for lots of information and others will chime in with ideas and suggestions for you.
  19. Thats horrible that MadMax was treated that way, poor thing, no wonder he doesn't trust anyone especially males, wouldn't you just like to ring their neck:angry: You will have a rough road to follow and it will take lots of time and much patience and with his past and his age he may never come to fully trust you but I think you will be able to work out an agreement with him so you two can have a workable relationship.
  20. OMG, that was so funny, thanks for the laugh.
  21. Thanks for sharing that link with us, with two parrots I know my limit but have been in homes where there are lots of birds and it is very noisy at times.
  22. Hello Steve and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Taylor. I agree you should not clip Taylor's wings and if you want to take him outside for some flying time invest in an aviator harness, it is the best on the market and we have other members here who use it regularly. Greys do pull on the heartstrings don't they, I find I have become quite attached to mine and she is like one of my own kids, I would do anything for her. You will find lots of useful information here in our many threads so do read thru them at your leisure and ask questions if you have any and we will help you in any way we can. We love pictures here so if you have some of Taylor you would share with us we would appreciate it and we have an other birds room where you can share some of Paco too if you like.
