Ok then it couldn't be being egg bound. Have you had him all those 6 years? He may have decided to shut up for a while but it doesn't sound like he may be sick for he wouldn't be eating much. To tell you the truth his hormones may be playing a factor, does he hold his wings slightly lower than normal and does he reguritate for you?

If that is true Erika then some hoarding may have been done by bird lovers to get it at the old price but it seems everything is either going up in price or they make them smaller in size and charge the same price. Well again you have my condolenses on your loss and only you know whether you should get another one but I don't think it was the stress either. Maybe if you do get another one get it from a different source, thats my opinion but this one was just not meant to be. Hang in there Tommy as it will get easier and stay in touch.

I'll keep some of my thoughts to myself but I am saddened to hear of his death, I liked his music especially in the early years of his career but then his life took a weird turn and he was never the same but may he rest in peace. Also on a sad note we lost Farrah Fawcett today too as she lost her battle with cancer.

I'm all set for Saturday to visit the sanctuary, I have a friend from the bird club going with me and we are off to Louisa to visit project perry, I am so excited about going, gonna take a lot of pictures and I will share them with you all when I return.

I am so sorry Tommy but when you initially said he was sleeping a lot and not moving much that was a sign he was sick and it was already too late then to save him. I know this is hard for you being that you just lost one but you did the best you could. He was already sick when you got him for birds will be sick before they ever show any signs of being sick, maybe you should talk to the breeder about it.

I believe that is exactly why they went from throwing rice to throwing bird seed at new married couples upon leaving the church. Any kind of cooked rice is a favorite of Josey and popped corn is also.

Yes I remember that but when you have a bird that may be sick or in need of professional care then you do what you have to and if that means traveling for several hours then you do it. I am sorry to hear you were just in the hospital, maybe you should have put off getting the bird if you are under the weather, hope you are getting better. Please do keep us informed Tommy.
