  1. Thanks for the update Dee, you are welcome to post anytime you like, we love hearing how other member's greys are doing, glad to hear that Sunny is doing just fine.
  2. Josey loves cantaloupe also and she likes for me to get some of the juice in a spoon and she drinks it right up, yummy, thanks for sharing those pics of him with us.
  3. No doubt you would have cut the part that had the poop on it off and ate the rest, thats what I would have done, I can imagine we all have eaten worse, look what is allowed in the food we buy at the store. Josey is a good girl and she doesn't chew on anything much except her own toys, she is well supervised and I don't let her near my cell phone, laptop or anything I don't want destroyed.
  4. So you are going for it Char, I hope it turns out to be a female, what a cute little baby and your granddaughter is a real cutie too, love those blue eyes, thanks for sharing both of them with us.
  5. There ya go with one of them, I don't know his name but I am guessing you and a lot of other people do, will try to get the others tomorrow.
  6. Hello Wang and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you. If you want one you will find one, it may take some time but if it was meant to be then it will be. You have certainly come to the right place if looking for information for our threads are full of useful advice on all aspects of grey ownership. Please read thru the threads and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Are you looking for breeders or are you interested in getting a rescue or rehomed grey? Do you have any other birds or have you had any parrots before?
  7. Hello Jennifer and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your new grey baby.
  8. Omg, I thought, not another member's grey is missing when I first started reading this thread but so happy to find it has a happy ending. Would you share with us how this escape happened as it may help someone else and then again we are curious?
  9. Thanks Char for the link about hormonal behavior, it was fascinating reading material and should help those whose birds are going thru this.
  10. How cute is that, wow Ecko found a good place to play and hang around in, he is the only "fruit" for his basket, thanks for sharing that with us Caitlin.
  11. I believe those toys are made from yucca wood.
  12. Oh how I remember waiting for Josey to finish weaning so I could bring her home, it seems like a lifetime but it will pass shortly, I look forward to seeing some pics after your visit Sunday.
  13. Ben her, Ben her, Ben hur, opps, Ben her:pinch:    :cheer:
  14. You have to put them in the room with them, maybe all the way across to the other side and gradually over a period of days or even weeks if necessary bring it closer and closer until he is used to it being next to him. My Josey is just about the same way, I got her a new playstand a week ago and she was having none of it but now she will at least stand on it, with more time she will be more comfortable on it to play with the toys hanging on it. When they growl like that it means it is too close so take it away far enough so that they are no longer mad at it and then move it.
  15. Thats too wide a spacing, you need no more than 1 inch spacing or he will end up hurting himself. It sounds more like a macaw cage is what you have, the bigger the cage is better but you have to watch the spacing.
  16. Diane you need to get another cage ASAP, your grey will end up hurting himself if you don't, you need one where the spacing is no more than 1 inch.
  17. Be sure to let us know how it turns out, ok.
  18. Heh, heh, heh thats funny:laugh: {Feel-good-0002006E}
  19. Then I think its about time, he should have a full workup to make sure he is healthy, I know its expensive but isn't he worth it?
  20. Well one thing is for sure, you don't have to join to read the threads but you do have to join to get in on the fun and participation with the other members. Who care if mods from other forums are on here looking, they know a good thing when they see it.
  21. You have plenty of time yet for Harvey to talk, my Josey didn't talk until she was one year of age and some others take even longer, be patient and you will be rewarded.
  22. Hello Diane and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your grey, btw what is his name? You seem to have quite a little stinker there and a smart one at that, he knows how to get the attention and uses it to his full advantage. He wants to explore his new world and all it has to offer but it can get him into trouble before you can spit. What do you do when he "cries" for your help? Of course you come running, he has already figured out that and is using it to get attention, if you are sure he is not indeed tangled then you are going to have to ignore this or he will have you running for the rest of your life. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so do read thru them at your leisure and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. We would love to see some pictures of him if you have any you would share with us.
  23. How long has it been since he has been seen by an avian vet? It may not be a bad idea to have him checked out if it has been a year or more.
