No he won't Erika, when the hormones subside he will go back to his normal self or at least that is what we have been told by those who have been thru it before and then all will be well again until those hormones rage again.
Its made it better because the time you spend with ZZero is quality time and not nesessarily quantity time, a lot of us have to work outside the home so we have to make what time we have for our greys the best we can.
I bet you get a discount on what you buy at Whole Foods and of course they have a huge variety of produce and stuff so yes ZZero is eating healthy.
You will get into a routine soon that will make this decision to go to work full time worth it and then you can work in some posting and chatting with friends here on the forum.
A fly on the wall just for a few minutes, thats all I ask, poor Erika, it must be traumatic to be chased by a small bird, thankfully Sunny has never been that way but she can be a handful sometimes but not like that.
It would probably be best to remove your grey from the premises when they do the spraying but it will have to air out completely before you can bring it back and that may take a day or two or longer as I don't know much about this and it would depend on what chemical they use. You might be best advised to ask your avian vet about all this, you don't want to take any chances and they are more sensitive to odors and chemicals than we are.
Pat I would think you would always know which is which, there would be subtle differences in each that would tell you one is Tyco and the other is Adaya and of course how they act and react will tell.
See sometimes things work out for themselves, you liked the Kasuku name first and so it fits, I liked both but this is your grey, you go with whatever your heart tells you is right for you.
Willis is just going thru the handfeeding motions as he is still just a baby at 5 months and you have quite a while before he does it because of hormones. Josey has never reguritated for me but then I know she loves me, I don't need the  food to tell me that.
Head bobbing can be done at any time, it is something they do from time to time.
Hello Hanlie and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Assegaai.
What an unusual name, does it have a special meaning?
Have you had him since he was just weaned or did you wean him yourself? Do you have any other birds or parrots?
You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so do read thru them at your leisure and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can.
We love pictures here so if you have some of Assegaai you would share with us we would appreciate it very much.
I have trained my grey and sun conure to eat at their own station while I have my dinner, I put some of what we are eating in their dishes and they eat at the same time but not out of my plate. They are on stands that sit several feet away from me and they know this is how it is. I decided a long time ago not to let them eat out of my plate, for one thing I might be eating something they can't have and I don't want bird tracks in my food much less poop:sick:
Bonnie you got one cute little bugger there and August seems like a lifetime away but will be here before you know it, is already almost July, thanks for sharing some pics of Akima with us.
You definitely need to find another vet, and even if the heavy breathing is not all the time it needs checking out and ASAP, the life of your grey may depend on it. Let us know what you find out.
Those are screams that you wished you had never heard, I have only heard Josey scream like that but once or twice and it was enough for me but glad to hear your visit went well otherwise.
He is a handsome little fella, I mean little devil as you put it, I am anxious to see him when he gets his ring around his neck, thanks for sharing him with us.
