  1. I know you won't rest easy until that baby is in your hands, now get a hold of yourself and make that drive and get her, can't wait.
  2. Those are some very nice looking toys Diana and your new grey should love them, maybe more than the cat does, cat is just curious and that is what gets them into trouble sometimes. About the cotton it is ok to use but you have to be vigilant about clipping the frayed ends as it can cause a grey's foot to become entangled and then an injury occurs or even resulting in death so just be careful with it. Thanks for sharing some pictures of your new toys with us, you are very creative, gives us older people some ideas.
  3. JillyBeanz wrote: That exactly describes Josey on her showers and if you find out the secret to making them fluff up their feathers to accept the water then let me know.
  4. caitb2007 wrote: Wish I lived closer to the beach, it is a 6+ hour drive for me to the nearest:( The sun is shining here too and no rain yesterday, yah and maybe none today, I had to go into the garden in my bare feet for the mud was too much for my shoes to handle, feet wash off pretty well under an outside spigot, but not today.:woohoo:
  5. Just waiting to hear that your baby girl has arrived and is safe and sound, oh and pictures too, can't forget the pictures please.

I have a sun conure that I have not had sexed and I refer to her as a she but she could well be a male but it doesn't matter to me, better than calling it an IT. I hear ya on the Harley ride, enjoy!

    Respect?

That sounds about right to me too Jay R-E-S-P-E-C-T Love that song Dan, thanks for including that.
  8. That was a real cute video, thats one smart tiel, thanks for sharing that with us but I have never tried a clicker but a lot of people do use it and recommend it highly, thanks Caitlin for including that link to a previous thread about it.
  9. I am interested in seeing this perch you made Rana but like Caitlin I wonder about the cement content as you don't want to use anything that would harm your grey, maybe one of the other members will know more and share with us.
  10. That would be great, hope she goes for it, for you could have a wonderful day Sunday after he has a good night's rest in his new home.
  11. I would start as soon as you bring him home giving him different vegetables and fruits in several different ways, cooked, raw, chopped, mashed or whatever way you can think of, he may surprise you and like them, thats too bad he was never given anything but the pellets, they are nutritious but should not be the entire diet. There are some threads in the bird food room that lists the vegetables and fruits he can have and be sure to familiarize yourself with the toxic foods so you will know what not to feed. He can also have some nuts, seeds, grains, legumes, rices, pastas, my Josey loves any kind of pasta especially spaghetti and you should find those in the bird food room also. In fact take a good read thru the entire bird food room for lots of ideas and suggestions for what to feed YummYumm, there are also recipes for things you can make just for him, good ones too.
  12. """She said she thinks we are bounding already and that he has taken a liking to me WOOHOO!!""" Well tomorrow is the day having just read your other post about YummYumm coming home Sunday and I think it will go very well, you have done your homework, now all you need is him, can't wait and you won't sleep tonight either I bet!
  13. Thats wonderful news Valerie but you will do fine so don't get stressed out over it or YummYumm will sense that, you have been given some good advice here so just let nature take its course. I can't wait to hear of his homecoming and pictures please.B)
  14. Thats wonderful Michelle, most people have to do it gradually in stages over a period of days to get the harness on, you must have been doing something right. So he enjoyed his little adventure outside did he and he didn't even try to chew it, I see many more outings for Milo.
  15. Yeah he has finally arrived, poor thing had to endure all day in a plane but looks like he survived it very well from your description and he acted pretty much as expected, what a little trouper. Now the fun begins and I can't wait to hear of today's adventure so be sure to pull yourself away for a bit to share it with us including pictures please.
  16. MORON, FIRST NAME MO LAST NAME RON, I hope they get the guy who took them and punish him severely and I hope the other baby is found quickly and is safe and sound.
  17. Rana and Pat are right you have to have a pecking order when you have more than one bird especially greys and the first one there is always number one, first fed and first in everything so they know their place. Give it a little more time but if you follow that rule then things should fall into place very quickly. What are your grey's names? Why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us some more about you and your two greys?
  18. Then you better get busy Pat and make those final preparations for your new addition to the flock but you do enjoy this so much and I can't wait to hear of all the antics that will be going on when Harley comes home, it should be interesting to say the least.
  19. Ok, gotcha and thanks for the karma as that is always welcome:kiss:
  20. What a moron, I don't blame you for going off on that guy I would have too but you should have immediately asked the vet about it as he would be the one to know for sure whether it was contagious. If I were you I would put in a call to your vet for reassurance, you don't want to take any chances.
  21. Oh no Deb, let us know when you get your baby and if everything is fine.
  22. I look forward to seeing some awesome pictures then since those who love photography usually provide wonderful pics and boring, no way, bring em on.B)
  23. Yes you are right, those of us with female parrots will have to be on alert to that very possibility for a long time and my Josey is a dna'd female but not all will lay an egg, maybe we will be lucky and not have to experience that, if Josey never lays one I will be so grateful. I think you are right about turtles, they can live for a long time too.
  24. Now that is interesting, take a look at the two previous posts by RudysMom, where it says "popular posts by" the one right before mine says RudysMom and the one before that says RileysMom, was that because it was posted before the change took effect? I thought when a member's name was changed it changed it everywhere it appeared even from earlier posts! {Emotions-00020070}
