  1. I know from experience how loud they can be. They even send the horses off running. I would be afraid of frightening my grey with it. It's very stressful for them when they are frightened. I would be worried about him getting tangled in the ropes and wires of the balloon if he was on a harness as well. Just things to consider.....:dry:
  2. Pryde, I love it when Talon flies to us! She will fly to our shoulder, or onto our hand when we put it up. Sometimes she will fly from her play cage to her playstand in the next room, or into the kitchen onto her swing, if she chooses. She mostly prefers to be carried from once place to the other. She doesn't just free fly in the house. But if we ignore her whistles to us, she will come in search of us. :silly:
  3. What a horrible tragedy. One that I will never forget. Please give my condolences to them. My heart breaks for them.....
  4. {Feel-good-0002006E} You guys are tooooo funny! What a great laugh to start my day! Thanks!
  5. Still searching.......I do remember one that we had where we all listed the things our greys said, but I'm having trouble locating it. Still searching....................
  6. I understand what you are saying, but in my case, I let Talons wings grow out because she could only fly downward and land on the floor, where we have 2 cats ready to pounce. I keep her wings unclipped for her own safety. She always flies and lands up high where they can't get to her.
  7. Heather, here is the thread I believe you were looking for: http://www.greyforums.net/forums/african-grey/8556-cute-things-your-grey-says.html#8556
  8. That's beautiful.....What a nice one to start the contest with. :)
  9. I think we've all been out in public with bird poop on our shirts. Oh well, it doesn't really bother me anymore!:laugh: :laugh:
  10. Wow! There are so many of them. I'm glad you shared those with us. So rare to see in other parts of the world.
  11. Where did you find this picture? Is it your bird? It almost looks orange in color.
  12. Well, since I got mine when I was in my early to mid twenties, tell him he's full of prunes!! :lol: :lol:
  13. Yes, A vet ASAP! And please keep us updated...:dry:
  14. Hi & Welcome to our Family. We have a wealth of information here. Just look around and you'll find lots to read. We are happy to help with any questions you may have, so don't be afraid to ask. How long have you had your grey? It might be he just needs time to adjust to his new home. We love pictures here, so please post some when you can.
  15. Yikes! What a morbid thought! {Emotions-00020120}
  16. How about pictures!! Don't worry, we are all different ages here, so we understand exactly what you are saying, and Welcome to our Family once again!!
  17. Sorry, Dan, but your parrots would require you to get out of the house so they could PARTY!! :woohoo: :woohoo: I wish life was less complicated.
  18. He looks like a plucker, but the cause of that could be many reasons. A lot of the times, that can be cured, if it hasn't gone on too long. I would easily spend the $400 just to rescue that bird, I wouldn't care about the vet bills, he needs to be put in a loving home where he can get the care he needs. Thats all that matters to me. Give the poor guy a chance....:dry:
  19. Hi Steve, and Welcome to our family. You have a very pretty bird. She looks to be about the right size, but you do need a scale to weigh her. Please do take Judy & CD's advice and have a check up done. If nothing else, she needs her nails trimmed by a vet. It's very uncomfortable for them when their nails are too long. I'll bet her feet bother her somewhat. Please keep us posted, and I look forward to hearing more about you and Nikki!
