  1. Hi everybody, Does anyone has experience with Tropifit Papuga Parrot food? In Turkey the only pellet based food is that one, so I didn't have much choice right now. Unfortunately my CAG "Büdü" only eats sunflower seeds and corns right now. He doesn't eat fruit or veggies also:( He picks only those from his bowl which consists lots of nuts, seeds etc. , so I want him to start eating pellet and give this tropifit a try. http://www.tropifit.pl/en/prod/parrot-17-6.html I'll consistently try to make him eating fruits and veggies but until he starts, I thought pellet based diet is better than only sunflower seeds & corn diet. Any advise for transition to pellet diet is also very much appreciated.
  2. Nice looking, I'll consider myself building one like this:)
  3. I'm not sure to put how many perches to put in below cage. The picture is taken a while ago. Dimensions of the cage: 80,00cm x 57,50cm x 167,00cm He now has below perches in the cage: 2 x 80 cm (one is the one in the picture - the original perch of the cage- the other one is new- natural fig tree) 2 x 57.5 cm (original perches of the cage) 2 x 20 cm (perches from natural wood with stress ropes) 1 x 70 cm (cotton perch - he liked it and started to destroy - I think it will be destroyed before the weekend ) I made some more natural fig perches (80 cm and 57.5 cm) but didn't put them in the cage yet, I'll seek your advise. Is there a rule of thumb or some reference you use when you decide putting how many perches to a cage? Sorry for my English as I'm not native. Thanks in advance to everybody!

    Sunflower seed

Thanks, as my new buddy doesn't eat anything but sunflower seed and corn, I'm a little reliefed, but I'll insist him to eat fruits and veggies. I won't give up!
  5. Below you may see my new cage. First I started to use my family's 30 year old cage which belongs to our passed away African grey (whom was with us between 1984 to 2006). But then I thought that cage was good for 30 years ago (as there wasn't much choices here in Turkey those times) so I bought this new one. This is one of the better options here in Turkey as we have lots of low cost Chinese cages (which I think could be harmful for my new buddy) and I bought this one which was made in Belgium. I think as they're a member of EU so they won't let cage producers to use toxic-harmful materials while producing the cage. First picture was taken @ my home. The other one is the same cage from the producer's catalog.
  6. Thank you all for the warm welcome. Here are a few pictures of my buddy, Büdü:
  7. Hello, thanks. We think he's around 2-3 years old because his eyes turned to straw yellow, but only God knows. His name is derived from Sesame Street character Bert (which is known as "Büdü" here in Turkey)
  8. Hi, I'm Burak from Istanbul, Turkiye. I'm a fan of African greys. I grew-up with an African grey. She came to our house when I was younger than 2 years old and we spent more than 20 years together until she passed away. Now I have another African grey named Budu which I guess is a male. I'm together with him for a month now, we're in the "getting used to each other period" with him
