  1. Hello group ,My friend Corine Is just learning about Greys Please Don't scare her thinking her grey is sick. Put her at ease please.(;-)
  2. The Blue and Gold is a male named Jake, The Boss is scarlet, female named Paradise she is nippy . They live outside year round , I live in Calif (;-)
  3. Here is what I built for Elmo , He wants to be out in it all day ,as he was today , at 8:30 am , and brought him in at 5:15 today. He is very happy out side watching the humming birds ,talking to my dogs Talking and whistling up a storm all day. It helps being portable like when I mowed the lawn yesterday:cool:.
  4. Here is Elmo's New Bigger cage it's 3 times the size he had before.
  5. Elmo is very happy with his New cage , He went right in it, not nervous at all. Great transition.
  6. Hello Brooke, I have not heard from you it's about a week now , I have been very excited about the hope of re-homing your little girl , I am guessing you are having second thoughts about re-homing your grey. Hope things work out ok with you and your grey, If you still are still wanting to re home your grey I am very ready to drive to pick up your grey on any day . Thank you for considering me for a permanent home for your grey. Joe & Elmo
  7. Yes, It is ,It's great to have other folks that care about my Elmo ,Also. Thank you .
  8. Not to worry (;-) , Elmo will be in the house or outside if when I do any of the those things which is rare. I build garden bridges. (;-)
  9. Wow ! You all are great , I wish I was able to put words on paper as all of you do , Having said that I am a man of few words (;-) , I am more of a hands on person as a few of you have already seen on my web site, http://www.redwoodgardenbridges.com , I am working on a old large Macaw cage, grinding it down to bare metal a few welds in plans to have it in my shop for my Elmo can help me build bridges.. I have built 5 other parrot cages over the years , I wish I had pics to show, I did not have digital tech back then .(;-) I hope I hear from Brooke , Joe
  10. Well Katana, I also have a passion for Dirt Bikes I have a 450R honda, and a KTM 530 EXC , I can only imagine what you went through with PDD with 2 baby greys (;-( , You gave it your best . I have forgotten more than I know about parrots ,If that makes sense ? Over 30 yrs you learn alot ,but at this point it's like second nature to me ,as with any animal one has to watch listen and read them. It sounds like I have your blessings for being a good home for Brooke's Grey, I do thank you for that ,I hope it helps her feel good about me being able to provide a good Home for her bird. I hope to hear from Brooke Soon, I have not yet ,I will keep you posted, Thank you again. Joe
  11. No offense taken, Great concerns Katana600, I had my first Grey 30 years ago (:-) He had a red factor chest but he had a picking problem, we even had him wear a collar to see if it would stop his picking, It didn't, we gave him to a person that was confined to a wheel chair hoping they could give him more time than I was able to working 9 to 5 back then. Then I had a pair of of medium crested sulfur cockatoos, at that time we lived in the city the were too loud they did a lot of screeching. Then got a Bronco Grey he was a great bird after 15 year we had burned a Teflon pan in the house not a good end to that story. That was like 5 yrs ago . I also had a outside pair of macaws Blue & gold & a scarlet they were not house birds they were kept in a large aviary. So I have been around Parrots half my life (;-)I Run my own business on my ranch, I am home all the time, I have cows ,Koi,1 grey and hope for 1 more. I am a experienced parrot person to say the least (;-) Thank you for asking. I truly hope that this re-homing of Brooke's CAG bird works as a win win win for all parties involved. I am not the type of person that likes to talk about oneself, but only because you asked, I am a better listener. God gave me 2 ears one mouth I a sure you heard that one before. Is Katana 600 your bike ? PS this is the best informational forum I have ever found, I have truly enjoyed reading all the posts, You have a great Team on board keep it up . I am going to take my Elmo for a walk (;-)
  12. Brooke, I have a few general questions so that I don't forget, 1.Foods, What are you feeding ,Pellets? seeds ? Likes of human foods ? Favorite foods? 2. Cage time ? perch time ? on top of cage? 3. Does she bite you ? Why? 4. How many people handle her ? Male ? Female? 5. Things that startle her? 6. Does she fly, Wings cut ? 7. Does she step up? on command ? These are things I should have asked my other Grey owner. Elmo. I have learned all about my Elmo in the 3 wks I have had him, Joe
