Thank you everyone for your kind words and support.We have one thing in common and that is that we love our animals and our animals love us unconditionally without judging.I may not have the support and love of my family but I have decided to move on from that chapter in my life because it's just too painful.I have found new friends and family on many forums and they are genuine. Hey Cagal08 It's good to see you here.In July I lost Sydney the 11 year old Harlequin Macaw and it was less than 2 month after the loss of my friend her previous owner to suicide.I took it really hard and sunk into a deep depression and contemplated suicide myself but I called my Dr and asked to be placed in the hospital while they adjusted my meds.They kept me for 8 days and so I have been out for 5 days now.I'm not 100% but I am sleeping better.Between Bipolar,anxiety,Colitus and many other things going on it was a relief to find out that I don't have Crohn's Disease.But they did find precancerous cells.All I can do is hope for the best and ask for continued prayers. Dave I'm assuming you were referring to me as the person with 35 birds and some have not adjusted.There are actually 27 and if people would like to consider me a hoarder you know what they say when you assume.Each and everyone of my birds are seen by a Avian Vet who comes to our house.So if that was the case none of them would be in my care.I already gave my apology to the poster.Now if you feel the need to try and make a point go right ahead.I know what goes on in our house and it's far from what anyone wants to assume.I don't have to justify anything to you or anyone else.

I will say the good thing that has become out of this loss is that for some reason whether it be a cat,dog or bird they somehow manage to make it to our door.We are able to help them all.I look all that as a special blessing.They are special in their own way.I'm glad I have been given this opportunity to help them all.It has really helped in many ways. The ending to this story is that weeks later the person was shot and killed.People who knew us and what he did said that he got what he deserved.I'm sorry I don't think like that.Those birds were in a happy home and had already been uprouted several times.I know they were very confused.I have always related to the animals.Today is the day of that terrible thing happened.I will always remember this and the 7th because that was my husband's birthday.To most they were just birds but to me they were my babies,my children and that was how I cared and treated them.

Sorry if there was some kind of mix up in the thread.Is there any way you can keep your CAG I'm sure he has grown accustomed to you and loves you dearly?It will really be hard for him to adjust.I have quite a few that are rehomes and are not adjusting well. Marcia

It doesn't seem fair that you are getting rid of one to make room for the new one.Does that mean in 6 months to 18 months the same thing will be happening to the baby?I feel bad for the first one that is now being replaced. Marcia:angry:

Thank You Dan The list that is shown are the replaced flock all except one Sydney the Senegal they left her behind.I'm sure she took a couple of bites out of them which was a good thing.The sad part about this is I knew the person who did this and my birds did too.It's a little hard to take people at their word. For my flock that was stolen 4 years ago.Not knowing their where abouts I have considered them to be possibly dead.The way they were taken has always left a void in my heart.Praying and hoping that they are alive and being properly cared for.After 4 years my heart still aches. Marcia

Hello everyone.I wasn't sure if this was the right place to put this.Today I was contacted by Rocky Lee's previous owner.He passed away 2/8 from Conjective Heart Disease at the age of 5 years old.Well we are still friends and keep in touch.The call started out with I have some good news for you.I couldn't imagine what it was then she continued on about a Congo named Rocko who was 5 years old and my heart jumped.She told me the story about how his owner is sick like her and can no longer take care of him.Well she told her about me and so Rocko's owner wants me to have him.So I'm ready to hang up and she says wait there's one more.Now I have to sit back down and by now my mouth is open.She goes on to tell me about Henry who is a 10 year old U2 who has had many homes.Not really a problem.So we hang up and within minutes the owner calls me.BTW both of their names are Jaquie.So we talk and really hit it off and I tell her yes without talking to my husband.Oops!Well I call him at work and a few fuses were blown but the outcome is that I WON!:woohoo: So now is to rearrange and make the final day to pick up Henry and Rocko.Wish us luck.:blush: Marcia

We also have Macaws large and small.The Large Elliott has limited contact with but he does feed and water them.Before he wouldn't even go in the room with them. Judygram If my memory serves me correct you are in Virginia.I know it's been a long time since I've been here but that's what I remember.Correct me if I'm wrong.Having so many parrots I have been to so many sites doing research.I'm glad I found my old emails and happen upon the link to this site.Yes I have 7 Greys 2 Timnehs and 5 Congos.1 of the Timneh's I named Taco was work but has come so far in the 3 years that I have had him.Now for the 5 Congos 2 of them are okay they don't have issues.The work will be the last 3 Congos that we took in.There is Yoyo she is 4 years old and was surrendered to a Pet Store who found me.Loving the challenge like I do I accepted the same day I met her I was greeted with a nice bite most people would of walked away but not me.I came back a few days later and took her home.Her story was that her original owner adult child moved back home with a small child that would pick with Yoyo. Of course you know what the outcome was?Yoyo started biting to defend herself and then was thrown out.Yoyo is very cage territorial which doesn't surprise me and has lots of fears to hands,toys and things.Then there is Sinbad who is 2 years old rehomed because the couple will be eventually relocating.Sinbad was very attached to the male owner it's been about 4 months and he still doesn't let us handle him.Now for the number one case is Casey is 10+old she was kept in a Cockatiel cage for 1 year with 2 Cockatiel toys and not allowed out of the cage.The owners were afraid of her because she bit them a few times.She is now in a large parrot cage in our bedroom and talks non stop.Every once in a while I can sneak and touch her.But she is still a work in progress.A lot of damage has been done.I've seen a lot of cases that really needed help and this was one of them.What angered me the most about this case was that the owner claimed that things were the way they were because he didn't know any better and was new to parrots.Well he had a computer with all the latest.Then within 1 month he called me to tell me he felt bad about the way things went with Casey and that he wanted to make things right.Well his idea of making things right was to go purchase another Congo African Grey which he also named Casey.That was it for me I no longer have contact with this person.I only feel for the furture of the new Casey.judygram wrote:
