I understand your worries, they tend to panic quite easily in these situations and they will (in my experience) not calm down until they got loose. About the inches, I have no clue, my country uses centimeters as measurement so I have no idea Maybe you could replace the perch? Or even get something like a little teddybear, if you're lucky he might like it a lot and he wont shred it apart

I'd say the EZ care cage is just fine for him. If he usually sleeps straight against the bars, you might place a small towel there or something to make sure his wings can't get through on that spot?

Recently I made a small hat for Dexter, and he is just loving it! Actually he doesn't care much about the hat itself, but he loves all the extra attention and 'Awwwwwwwwwwwww you're so cuuuuute' voices which make him want to wear it! Thanks for these kind words I sure am happy Mickey and Dexter get along so well! They really seem in love sometimes, I even caught Dexter 'vomitting' (don't know the exact English words ^^) for Mickey so that he could have some of his food! He ate it out of his beak! Mickey does the same thing to me once in a while, it's their amazing yet disgusting way of saying I love you! I sure will be uploading more videos as Dexter progresses learning his tricks now Or maybe even the smallest things, every day is fun having him around I made a small party hat for him, which he really seems to like, and he looks so cute wearing it! It's so funny how different they all are. 3 out of 4 here just love to walk around, and the other one NEVER even touches the ground!
