I've had my bird a little over a year now, and he's of course my bird and just tolerates my wife.
he's been talkin, learning the dogs names, and even calls them into the house when i let them inside.
my problem is my bird absolutely hates his cage. He's out during the morning with my wife at least 6 hours a day, put in his cage for 3 hours, then i let him back out for another 8-10 hours. constantly talking to him and playing with him.
but he just hates being put in his cage, he hates being in his cage. matter of fact, i just put him to bed because i'm about to go pick up my wife from work, and he's trying to find a way out of his cage at this very moment.
as soon as he gets out, he's happy as can be. Talking, whistling, chirping, playing around. i've tried to give him a treat every time i put him in his cage to calm him down, but nothing works. is this normal? what do i do here? i'm kind of lost.
I had an old Double Yellow-Headed amazon parrot and never had this trouble with him, could anybody guide me in the right direction?
Thanks.
