Added thought: I will say some pet stores do have some employees very knowledgeable about fish. I remember back in the day when the pet store was my fish vet -- also a place where you could take a water sample in for testing. Not every pet store, obviously, but some were quite brilliant when it came to fish keeping trouble-shooting.

I know this is another old thread but I've been reading through all these posts on the forums at night (as bedtime reading). I'm glad I came across this one as we were about to purchase products from the Bird Tricks people. Thank you everyone for contributing your information on this and providing more insight! On a side note, @shanlung, I love reading your live journals! Your relationship with your parrots are my goals with my birds. Thank you for sharing your experiences!

I know this is a really old thread but I'm glad I was scouring the web and the forums on information about the Bird Tricks people. My husband and I were about to buy the seasonal feeding system cookbook that they have before realizing that a lot of the information in that book is most likely available online for FREE from other people (such as Shanlung, great Tinkerbell Mash recipe which we will try to tackle at a later point!). We were also going to try the pellets that they had on their website but found out they are repackaged TOPS pellets that are much more expensive. Again, super grateful that I came across this forum that has great and free information for parronts. Been going through all the posts under Bird Food and so many of you have such great ideas that we're excited to try out!

Losing a pet is tough (they are family after all!) and sometimes it's nice to chat with people during this trying time.

Good to know! We'll definitely start adding RPO to her diet. Oh my gosh! 13 birds! I can't even imagine! It must be very entertaining at your house! We will check out the sprout people but in the meantime we want to focus on making different types of chop for them from fresh veggies. Will definitely look into the Sprout People though! She did steal a few sweet potato fries (that we had baked one time) and loved them! So we will be getting sweet potatoes and baking those for her. Good idea to chop the veggies in it!
