  1. It's hard for me to answer this because the only bird I have any experience with is my TAG. Would I be drawn to others? I'm not sure. All I know is that Timber has had my heart since a few days after I brought him home.

  2. For me it was the intelligence, sensitivity, and yes, the ability to talk. I've always thought greys are very handsome parrots. And maybe I am a glutton for punishment, but greys do everything in their own good time and in their own fussy way -- and I like that. The cat of the parrot kingdom perhaps.

  3. I'm only drawn to certain types of parrots, African Greys being #1. Their soul touches mine for some reason. I like to justify it by saying I was probably a Grey in a previous life..who knows. I feel strongly about them. Very similar to my feelings for my daughter, I care that much for them (my human daughter also feels strongly and refers to GreycieMae as her little sister). I don't really feel anything for macaws or cockatoos or amazons, no idea why. My GreycieMae lets me do anything with her and I feel like she loves me right back. Then there's Huey. He detests me and would have me evicted but I still am drawn to him, he's so irresistible to me. Another bird that really really gets into my soul are my conures. I have two of them and I just love having them with me. They are totally adorable to me, their little white eye just does something. I feel like there are other birds that I would really get along with: Quakers, senegals..who knows. Everyone has seen my GreycieMae, this is Tinkerbell and Connor - my other two loves:

  4. I know change is difficult and people just read the forums, so Im starting this new section to post documentaries that are readily available anywhere but you can have them here. Just click on the grey box and it will take you to the module. I paid a bunch for the module, and just hope someone gets some use out of it.

  5. A question that can only be answered by member people of this forum. They are not flashy like a Amazon or Macaw. Just a plane grey parrot with a red tail. They are not the clowns like a Amazon, or the beauty of a Macaw. Just a plane grey parrot with a red tail. They can be very stand offish and only come around in their time. When they are young they have those very dark almost black eyes that change to yellowish green as they get older. What is it about them that catches your imagination that will pull you in like an electromagnet ?? What is t about them that keeps you loving them and fascinating about them that's keeps you in their grip for a life time. There has to be more than one answer to this question. Corky is my beauty in so many ways that I could never pick one. What are your thoughts about this mystical creature

  7. I have an amazon, a cag & a tag. They co-exist in my house. I would NEVER put 4 (2 of each) together in an aviary unattended by me. Too much can happen. I have seen fights with my 3, and if I was not there to intervene, most likely 1 would end up a bloody mess of worse. They are not to be trusted even tho 95% of the time they do fine together. My amazon & tag USED to play chase as a fun game flying thru my house....now my amazon can be bully and just chase my tag out of her space..for whatever reason, they don't care for each other. MY 3 have found their place in a flock of 3 thru trial and testing...my cag is the queen (although not spoiled or favored) next is my amazon lastly is my tag...maybe due to size? even tho my amazon is big, idk. They are all close in age and grew up together..but know and have their place..they don't like to share...Ages: tag 14, cag 14 and 1 month younger than my tag..my amazon 11 years old. I have had them all since they were very young.
