Hello all - I’m the paranoid parrot owner like I’m sure a lot of you are. Just looking to see if this amount of feather loss is normal in just a few days. I’ve just in the last year adopted two 17-20 year old greys and have constantly been concerned about the possibility of plucking. Sorry about the messy photo, she just got done tearing some Romain and corn apart.
I’m up in Minnesota. Seems to be plenty of humidity right now. I’ve always been a bit worried about her in particular as she was cage bound for almost twenty years. She made very quick progress when she moved in with me but had a slight setback when JoJo was adopted but overall she is still making progress and then I see these feathers down on the bottom of the cage. It’s just freaking me out. Thank you for the help guys.
Not sure where in the world you are located but my female Grey has just started losing feathers in bulk. I guess she's molting as she's not a plucker. We have full feathers all over the place suddenly like what's in your photo.
That does seem like a bit more than normal. How is the humidity in the room ? Do you, have some soothing music perhaps? Please try not,to,worry, they can sense when you are under stress and will react accordingly. You need to be relaxed and calm around them .
Any updates on this guy? He reminds me of Huey, looks just like him in the photo above. Huey has trust issues too but he's figured out how to get his hoomans to be at his beck (peck?) and call 😂
