Guest SchreibG Posted May 13, 2003 Posted May 13, 2003 Hi to all, I've heard, different things about stuff we have in our household that can be bad for a parrot. I'm just wondering to what level are they bad? Teflon on cookware for example. It becomes toxic to a bird after it reaches a certain temperature. What temperature is this, or do I get rid of all my Teflon coated cookware? Scent candles, scented incense sticks, plug-ins, cleaning sprays, scented sprays, etc. Do people do away with this things after they have a parrot, or can they still be used? Maybe in different rooms around the house not necessarily where the parrot sleeps or hangs out. I ask these questions because I will be bringing home a CAG in about a month, don't want to kill the bird due to negligence. I'll like to be prepare for these things. I know the things I mentioned can be harmful to a bird but I need to know to what level, I know if I stab myself in the heart with a knife I would probably die, this doesn't necessarily make a knife around the house a bad thing, is just how, when and what is used on.
