What can I use to secure PVC fittings on a play stand?

I'm afraid to use adhesive. But we need to do something.

 

Husband thought a paste made from sugar....that would be safe.

 

What do you use?

I haven't made a play stand with PVC, but I have made a couple shower perches a table stand and a large stand that hold an atom or a boing, and I didn't use anything. They fit together pretty tight.

Yes, I have made many things for my flock from PVC pipe. Never a need to glue it, it fits tightly enough!

It really should be tight enough on its own but you can always use stainless bolts if really needed.
