Zinc plated safe??

I was just about to order some zinc plated quicklinks and zinc plated 8mm chain to make Archie some toys,are these safe for him?

Stay away from zinc as it is toxic to birds.

what site were you going to order that from? I just ordered a TON of bird toys (I am so broke now haha) from a few different websites but assumed they were safe. woops

I've been told that nickel-plated chain is okay. For all the rest of the hardware, I use stainless.

 

Here's Ellie playing with some stainless hardware that I wasn't using and gave to her for playing. She likes to remove the wing nut and let all the stuff drop to the floor...

I used to order from Nalani Toys years ago, and used to have no problems. Not the same luck on my more recent order and I know someone else posted about issues with not getting an order they placed as well.
