african grey keeps screaming and flapping wings.

hi, my african grey congo keeps screaming and flapping his wings, at the same time, but his wings are clipped. This happens randomly and i dont really know what it is. Some times i just give him food and he quiets down, but this doesnt always work. Some times the screaming is screaching, and sometimes is just noises, like he clicks 2 times the goes ooooh. My african grey is 8 months old. please help, thanks

Actual screams? Something is disturbing it such as a vacuum cleaner or an owl ouside the window (re: Alex).

If you can tell that he's not angry or scared I would say he's just trying his wings out so to speak. Excersizing and making the wings stronger. Baxter does this occassionly and I swear he is going to just take off with the cage and all. :laugh:

 

But if you think its something not natural or even harmful like somethings wrong then perhaps you need more advice or even a vet visit.

My Ana Grey loves to flap her wings and practice her words. She does it in the AM and also in the PM. But I agree with others, if you think it is more than just exercising or letting off steam then I would see your grey's avian vet for a checkup.
