That's so lovely - I do think they sense changes in atmospheres and feelings in a house - and to be honest - I'd rather give Harvey a cuddle than my husband!
Ah, bless him, less than 24 hours and you've soaked him already!!!
At least it's nice enough to have him outside today - it feels like summer!!!
He's lovely - a proper old gent
What a discovery!! I thought Harvey's head had dropped off this morning - but no - it was stuck in his food dish on his playstand and didn't come back up until it was all gone! Well, what is my discovery you are asking - have I been baking? Nope!
My new discovery is "ASDA" (Walmart) dried salad bean mix wholefoods. The description is "minimally processed and naturally nutritious foods that contain no colours, flavours or hydrogenated fat"
It's a dried bean mix which consists of:
Flageolet beans
Dried green split peas
Dried yellow split peas
Dried black turtle beans
Dried haricot beans
Dried brown beans
Dried pinto beans
I've boiled it up as per the instructions and split it into freezable portions! He loves it!!!!
Thought I would share it for us "non-cookers"!!
Goodness me! Bernie - you are more informative that the BBC!! I was watching the telly this morning and guess what was featured - just what you've described!!
They said that the police wanted to know of any instances - it seems it's from Yorkshire downwards - they're too scared to try it on with us hard people up here in the North!!!
Straight away if he's weaned. Please, please visit the threads on this site (bird food)for the toxic foods for a grey - there are lots of things that you cannot feed your grey that to us are harmless - this thread is a starter for you:
http://www.greyforums.net/forums/bird-food/137487-top-10-common-foods-that-can-poison-your-bird.html
It is so important you read up on what they can eat - they can become ill so quickly without the appropriate diet.
Goodness me - I leave you all for an evening - and all hell breaks loose (or other things I suppose Bernie!)
The aim for this week is for Bernie to find something equally disgusting to eat to accompany his drink!!
:woohoo:
Ha Ha Katana600 - I know!! It seems this is the type of person I am - never mind - I don't give any parrot advice, so I advertise myself as the Entertainment's Committee" - the only thing is - the rest who join in are easily misled!!
I know how you feel about looking after Blue while Bernard and Jean are away - I often look after my neighbour's cats if they are going to be away for a couple of days (luckily they go in a cattery any longer than this) and I am so apprehensive. It's someone else's baby - not that you treat them any differently than Charlie (or indeed Cracker) but you are so on edge when it's someone elses.
Karma to you (because I can't fetch you a glass of wine)!!
I agree with Sheila - I have never, ever, never, never, joined a forum about anything before. This is the first one ever. Mind you - I'm certainly not shy, kind of self opinionated and was even said in a recent work appraisal "Doesn't tolerate people less able than herself!!" - Ho Ho Ho - that about rounds me up!!
Woah! Unlucky for you lot - but HA HA HA HA! I don't live too far away!!! And honestly you lot - I really don't!!!
Welcome to this evening's meeting - now open for all!!
Hey - coming to think about it Bernie - in 1985 when you were crashing cars in Kielder I couldn't even apply for a licence for another six years, let alone rag one round a forest!!!
OOOOhhhhh - he's so beautiful!!! I am still in love!
He's doing so well Pat - and obviously gaining weight fantastically.
There's a flight from Newcastle to Canada - I can be over in no time to help!!!
I seeth with jealousy each time I see your videos of Emma!! Harvey WILL turn out like Emma HE WILL!!
Emma is so so sweet - I love your videos of her. Thanks for sharing her with us (and making me jealous!!).
Ah, lucky little Ben! Harvey loves it outside in both his cage and his Aviator - I don't think you'll get many more chances of outdoor fun without icicles appearing!
In the UK there is actually a law for people keeping parrots (and I mean a proper, police abiding law) and this also runs into pet shops (none of which I know sell anything bigger than a cockatiel).
It's run by the Royal Society for the Protection of Animals (RSPCA) so I think our laws over here are more strict in the care of parrots as a whole.

Good luck - I hope you are able to make a difference.
